SYLVESTER CLARKE – Forgotten West Indies fast bowler…..
Very short video I made to show some of his bowling, some day i’ll compile all his wickets etc, but this will have to do for now, something is better than nothing……
Met him personally when i was a young fast bowler at a cricket clinic, what a great bowler and man, scared the hell out of our opening batsmen from a short run-up.
Definitely not forgotten in South Africa where he played a lot of cricket. Fearsome is the word. Sad that the politics of the day took him away from international cricket, he was real fast!
Clarke could be extremely fast and nasty when be wanted to be..I've watched him at Kingsmead bowl several bouncers that went for one bounce boundaries over the keepers head…but he needed to be riled at times to bowl flat out .

His bouncers on the slow wickets on the Pakistan tour of 1980 were vicious and brutal. Nobody could face him with confidence.
Was this video about Clarke or Dyson? I saw a side of Dyson that I never saw before, whereas Clarke didn't take a wicket here like I expected him to
To think that John Dyson would coach the west indies…

Not at his very best in this, he was frighten quick so I've been told doesn't do sly justice.

In Transvaal he was Sylvester de Klerk. Enough said.

Was loved in South Africa often jokingly called Sylvester de Clarke. Very quick explosive bouncer had relatively short run up.
One highly greased right shoulder produced one of the quickest pace
That sarcastic look at 2:26 😀
Was not at his peak here
Yes. RIP Mr Clarke.
Couple of more than handy Aussie bats there who've also been forgotten.
