It was a mistake by a kid who’s used to playing this way. Part of the blame has to go to coaching. I hope Roni is ok but he will never do that again. Dilly deserves a break on this one.

When I first saw this i was shocked and disappointed.
Now after watching it and thinking about it a bit more… I dont fault the defender.
The last time I saw anything about Hirvonen he was showboating on the goalie… which isn’t nice.
The defender literally just got in his way… didn’t raise an elbow, didn’t leave his feet… as clean of hit as we will see.
You can’t expect to dazzle your way through training camp and also expect to not be taken seriously by defenders trying to earn their spot.
Sucks to see but I don’t fault the defender.
We have enough players who approach the NHL likes its a shinny hockey league.
