a BORING Trade Deadline in Montreal

OK Guys, the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline is over, and you have to admit, it was pretty boring. ESPECIALLY for fans of the Montreal Canadiens, who were really hoping to see their team add some prospects and draft picks to help with the rebuild. However, Kent Hughes would say in his press conference, that while he would have certainly liked to make some trades happen, there were just none available that made sense for the Habs.

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

  1. We failed this deadline just hope in the last 20 games they can gain some ground on the sharks for the fourth pick. And the panthers somehow tank to the 9th pick so the habs can have a 14.5% chance of getting the number one pick

  2. I was just waiting for a big trade like Drouin gone or Monahan gone, but no, still happy we made that trade with LA but we could’ve done so much more

  3. Putting the dead back in deadline. But better than exchanging bandaids with the Coyotes or the Coilers.

  4. All star game, now deadline day. . . NHL entertainment really knocking it of the park . . . with sleeping pills 💤

  5. Don't get me wrong. I was happy Hughes traded Dadonov for Gurianov. I believe that made the team better short and long term.. But I was hoping for more today. As a team rebuilding, we all expect a lot of movement at the trade deadline. Of course we can't expect to do what Chicago do and trade all of their players and even maybe their mascot. Do they have a mascot? Did they have a mascot? But seriously, I know Hughes had his hands tied. At one point in the season, I was sure Monahan would fetch a 1st. So now that the opportunity has passed and the Habs will get nothing for him, it disappoints me.

Oh well. Let's pray to the hockey gods that the Habs have less injuries next season. I don't know why the Habs keep getting injured. Is it the water? A curse? The training staff? Whatever it is, something needs to change. It's too early to predict how they play next season and here's hoping to see them make the playoffs but if they are sellers again, I hope they will be able to get something for their UFA a year from now.

  6. Great video junkie went as we thought let the bumbs walk at the end of the season. We can put our money to better use. I wouldn't have wanted them either . No shock .

  7. I was hoping someone somewhere would be lured by Hoffman… at least big daddyo is bubye….

  8. Ah well…now its time to sit back and watch the tire fire which is called the Toronto Maple Leafs. 😂😂

  9. Do you think that the Habs got snubbed on trades because of the steal we made last year with Chiarot?

I'm noticing that most 1st round picks are always protected now.

  10. I was all set to stay home from work for the trade deadline, and changed my mind before 10am. It would have been more fulfilling to stay home to watch "The View".

  11. You guys crying that we didnt move the trash we have, you do realize teams whad way better options out there than dvorak and drouin… Our trash was unmovable half of what we dont want is injured. And everything we dont want other dont want either. So

  12. I was down for trading Edmundson until I heard how much he cares about the team… Now I wanna keep him!

  13. Thanks for doing a video despite a lackluster deadline for the Habs lol. Love your videos regardless

  14. Drouin did not get moved as no one wants him and I understand that as I don't either. other then getting rid of Dadonov we did nothing but we can not expect trades unless they work for us

  15. Habs fans are clowns. They always start with this was masterclass. A player gets injured and they spin it like they are purposely holding out uninjured players to draft bedard. They still think Price is coming back.

  16. This was a perfect deadline for the Habs. We are building the right kind of culture and I love it. Edmunson is a leader and we need him. No team in their right mind would trade anything of value for Monahan right now until he proves that his frame can handle it. Keep working hard and building a warrior culture boys!

  17. Come on if Monahan and Eddy weren’t injured they probably being trade for a good return

  18. If the Habs are as banged up as they were these two last seasons next season, there is a serious problem with this organisation.

  19. edmunsson is gonna be an elite rental next year so it’s fine, i just hope we give monahan a 1 or 2 year deal too

  20. I heard Ottawa offered a can of orange soda for Drouin, Hughes wanted two cans though.

  21. Went down as I expected, Dadonov got moved, that's it (besides non-NHLers). Between injuries, injury prone and no room to retain salaries there was no bait. Along with the young guys, Savard, Anderson and Matheson were pretty much untouchable. Experience, role models for developing players, what they bring to the team, they want to be in Montreal…they just weren't going anywhere.

  22. The irony, drouin doesn't get traded then scores his first goal of the season. Things are looking up the kid

  23. the high cost that those sport chanels pay ??? something will have to be done to change this. Why would the sport channels pay for a dull trade day. hold the trade day stop making a big event. just announce who was traded to who . Money will be saved.

  24. Probably waiting for the draft and off season, just because it’s the trade deadline doesn’t mean you have to make trades, there will be other opportunities to make some moves.

  25. Idk why no team asked for drouin the guy have .5 pts per game average in 40 game could have easily made another team better in depth .. we could had kept 50% etc etc

  26. The simple reason MTL wasn't able to stockpile more picks and prospects is obviously due to the inordinate number of injuries they continue to suffer through. Since this is the second straight season Montreal has had a record breaking number of man games lost to injury, there must be more to it than just bad luck. Either the medical staff is not competent in diagnosing the injuries or the training staff is rushing players back, or both. I think they need to take a very close look at every single injury over the past 2 seasons and especially those that were reinjured during rehab or very shortly after returning to the roster. Figure it out guys and make the changes that are necessary because this is way past bad luck now.
