  1. I don't think Ottawa has as much leverage to get a package like that as you think they do. He's a free agent next year and teams know this. And he pretty much controls his own destiny at the trade deadline so if they ask for too much he will just walk as a free agent next year

I personally do think he ends up in Detroit for one of their first rounders, zadina and a defensive prospect. But they have the cap space to give him in the 8 plus million-dollar range

  2. Completely clueless. Wish you were the Islanders GM. A 5'7" minus 31 LW for 8.7 million and you want to throw in Dobson and a first. Where do I sign? Did you watch the playoffs by any chance? Lots of 5'7" guys playing outside the dots there.

  3. If the islanders trade away Dobson they’re idiots. The defense is old as it is and Romanov will never be a top pairing defenseman. Dobson will.

  4. Ottawa and the islanders both completely suck at managing the salary cap. I’m sure they will come to a mutually destructive agreement. Debrincat will be an islander. Much to everyone’s detriment; Ottawa’s, new York’s, Debrincat’s, and Detroit’s.

  5. I’m not convinced that he’ll be coming to Detroit but it’ll sure be interesting if he does!

Id love to see him in New York (Islanders) also!

  6. Detroit fan. Don't want him unless it's a ridiculous bargain. No way I'd be giving up future assets for him. He isn't gonna make us a playoff team.

  7. It''s too much $$ going back to Ottawa (JG $5M + ND $4M + Wally contract). Sens have $9M in cap space and needs to sign Pinto & a few bottom 6. I sense a 3 way if this were to work

  8. Ottawa fans wish JGP all the best, but none are asking for him to come back. Nor does anyone want Karlsson back, other than for nostalgic reasons. Our current D core is looking really good. That being said, if the Sens can create a bit of a bidding war, then they may get something more. On the other hand, I don't think most Sens fans care if we get back the exact thing we gave up to get the Cat. I'm sure most people will be eating their hats when the deal actually all goes down. Cheers

  9. Islanders have the Win now assets to trade for debricat But Detroit has the available cap space and promising future. as a wings fan i hope he goes to Detroit. Id like to see some exciting, meaningful hockey for a change.

  10. Stevey y wont over pay. Islanders would be big but realistically do they have enough

  11. 8yrs nope im out, on size alone, hes not built like a matthews, kaprizov, Tkachuk, not even a seguin

  12. Bro if the iles throw that out there im taking that trade and then flip dobson and the 1st for a 3rd line foward with 2nd line upside on a good and short contact. Then im gonna go win a cup.

  13. interesting you didnt even mention detroit. detroit will get the cat for 8.5 @ 7 years when its said and done. sorry if that offends you 😛

  14. I don't think Yserman will trade his draft assets away. I think he will be willing to trade Gustav Lindstrom, Filip Zadina, Joe Veleno, or Jonathan Berggren. They were picked by Ken Holland. They're NOT Stevies "GUYS". If packaged with a 2024 second round and fourth round pick, maybe Ottawa will trade DEBrincat and gain cap space. Detroit should offer Alex a package under what Larkin is getting; lets say 8.1 million for six years. If Alex DeBrincat's ego and greed will not accept a similar package to come home to Michigan…then I don't want him.

  15. Kevin, we’ll always love Pageau here in Ottawa. But… we don’t want him back. We’ve got Stützle, Norris, Pinto down the middle. We’ve also got centers like Kastelic, Greig, Ostapchuk in our system. We’re not too keen on bringing back Pageau with his $5m a year price tag. He just doesn’t fit.

  16. Bidding War between Two Teams!

Proceeds to talk about the islanders and not give the other main team 😂

  17. Well, for the last two teams, I really believe the trade will be with the Islanders because Stevey Y doesn't want to give up a top 4 good prospect and I am sure there is more to it than just a good prospect that's playing now. I could be wrong though. I am just sick of hearing it. Make the trade.

  18. I'd be okay with him on a prove it deal, but I don't see that happening. And it's mainly because of the assets he's going to cost. Looking at next year's potential UFA's has me feeling ok to roll as is tbh.
