Debrincate is absolutely worth 8-9 mill a year. Aside from the scoring, the guy has played 82 games I believe 3 of the 5 seasons he’s played in the show. So he’s very very durable.

Yzerman said on day one at his GM introductory press conference, that this is going to be a slow; brutally painful; and long drawn out rebuild. There is no magic wand.
If you think back to the team SY inherited in 2019: cap hell problem contracts that created log-jams, which ruined the development of prospects like Svech and Cholo. They were last in nearly every metric, including goals for and goals against. Our best goalie was the aging corpse of Jimmy Howard, and Filip Hronek was basically our blue line. Their best goal scorer only netted an anemic 21.
So yeah, we're not there yet. This man is a professional, who builds perennial contenders, so let him do his job. Fans shouldn't be calling for other people's jobs, just because they're bored.
