  1. man games lost the last 2 seasons were a disaster as we set a record not to be proud of…love your choices and agree 100%

  2. I just want the boys to have a healthy season. That way we at least know what this teams about.
Also excited to see all the new prospects playing in Lavel is year. Should be a very interesting season for both teams

  3. Imagine dat! Habs played in the finals two ears ago but then what will they do dis year? GHG.

  4. The prospect pool is insane. Been saying it for the last 2 years. It only gets better and deeper. Right now, it is bursting at the seams, and some will spill out onto Montreal Ice this year again for sure. We still have lots of pics the next 2 years, so I expect nothing to change.

  5. i am less optimistic about the season but very optimistic about our prospect pool. I agree about 1) Caulfield— the most exciting thing is his long term contract. 2) Dach — love him great prospect 3) Mailloux, Reinbacher, Kidney, Beck, WAWA… will watch these guys closely

As far as Slaf goes… I am deathly afraid to watch him next year. I have not given up but there is precious little evidence that he will be a whole lot better.

I know Sir Junkie wants to take the positive stance and that is awesome But 39 games and a Phantom injury that know one really knows what it is…

WHY WHY WHY was he not at development camp.

Look at Wright 68 games last year at 3 Levels and World Juniors….. And Wright was offered a PASS on Seattle development camp but he showed up.

There is no evidence Slaf will progress— had he shown up at development camp ( if not againest CBA rules)

Kid has little chance to be better

  6. The key to a rebuild I believe is goaltending.
Mont Umbo is good but not the guy.

  7. This team, despite very low chances of making it to the playoffs, will be much more exciting to watch than any line-up we had in the past maybe 20 years.

  8. I can tell HJ is a true insider because how else would he know that Geoff Molson eats Cheerios?

  9. Those are indeed 5 things to look forward too next season. I'm optimistic that the entire team will be better. There were too many rookies playing at the same time last season. All of these guys have a year of experience in the NHL now. Montembeault also won a gold medal at the Worlds. His self-esteem must be at an all time high. A confident player always plays better under pressure.

I also think the chances of making the playoffs are slim but you never know. Maybe other teams will be the ones with lots of injuries this season. Maybe Montreal won't lead the league in injuries next season too. With a little luck, they might make the playoffs and will be fun to watch all season. I'm keeping my expectations low not to feel disappointed next May but that doesn't mean they won't have more success than expected.

  10. I just took in a report that suggests that the hype over Reinbacher and Newhook has made an oversight. That oversight is Jacob Fowler. His hockey IQ/vision/reading plays is top notch, he stays square to the puck and great lateral movement, has a calm about him. Things to work on is fitness and conditioning, skating and quickness. They said between going to Boston College and Habs development that those issues would be easily addressed. Other thing they said is projections are the most difficult ones when it comes to goaltenders but the prediction is that we are looking at a number one goaltender in a few years.
As for next season, if the team manages to remain decently healthy, we're not looking at a top 10 pick next draft.

  11. We need more Elite Level Players. What we got mostly is top 6, top 9, bottom 6. And 3rd pairing dmen.

  12. With a healthy habs team this year, I'm curious as to where they will finish. As it stands, on paper, every team in the atlantic division is better than they are. I believe the habs can leapfrop Detroit, Ottawa, Buffalo and Boston when Lane Hutson joins the team next year, or the year after, depending on what he decides. He will be the catalyst.

  13. New Viewer of this chanel here, just want to say that the intro is hands down the best among hockey chanels

  14. Fired up to see how Kirby Dach develops this season. He showed some flashes of being a dominant player last season. Also, I hope Xhekaj's shoulder is healed 100% before dropping the gloves.

  15. If Caufield had have played the whole year we would have likely ended up with a few extra points and we wouldn't have been in a position to draft Reinbacher and we would have been likely stuck drafting a guy like Michkov. I am sure there are no Habs fans that would be happy with that scenario lol.

  16. might be goalie bias on my end but I cant wait to see how Monty performs this season could be his breakout year

  17. The anglo side might be taking this rebuild well but the french fan base is already want kent to lose his job.

  18. Im also optimistic , but for in about 2-3 years. For now i think we are nowhere near the playoff, altough without injuries ,that could change.
Im still salty about the Romanov trade…
They have non stop told us we have a great defensive future and its true so why draft Reinbacher?Could have just kept Romanov and draft a really good center this year instead wich would have been better than 3 Kirby Dach at the same position….its like fixing its own mistake..
Dach has done the job but idk i dont understand the GM's moves…
Trading defenseman for center, then trading a good first round for much likely a 3 line center to then…use our best draft pick to draft a defenseman.
I dont mind gm's doing trade that could pay off(Dach, maybe Newhook) but the price we paid for Dach and Newhook are off the charts .

Maybe the players are good but the trades are bad were giving away to much.

  19. We are still only about to begin management's second year so I can wait to see if the GM's can shore up the forward group and they NEED to do just that.
The last issue is zone setup the Habs are not good in ANY zone and this is lack of coaching so St.Louis also has something to prove this year as it will be a full 2 years under his belt.
