  1. Poor DuClair. I liked him in Chicago, i was hoping he found a home in Florida. An injury plagued season shouldn’t affect your employment like that. Hope he does well in SJ.

  2. I can't believe Canes would want Karlsson. I don't think Burns and Karlsson work well together on one team. The Sharks tried, and Karlsson really never fit in tell Burns left. They both play the same role while on the ice and just doesn't work like a nhl video game gm mode😅 I'm curious if they'll have me eating my words if they aquire him. Good luck Canes! I want you to win a cup with Freddy!🥰

  3. if the canucks add pesce somehow in a trade including maybe a hoglander and garland or boeser that would be massive. i’ve always like pescue decent frame, rhd, has an amazing giveaway/takeaway ratio career wise. including this last one for having 60tk 26gws… you honestly just don’t see those numbers to often from a player and it’s quite impressive. blocks bout 100 pucks a year and is good for 25-30 points. if we get pesce i’m calling it now hughes will win the norris next season with him alongside him.

  4. Born in Minnesota and lived in Dallas since I was a toddler, I've been a (North)Stars fan for 40+ years… if the Stars pick up Dumba, I may have to put myself in LTIR and cheer on Seattle exclusively this year.

    W.T.F.

  5. I really, really, really hope that the Hurricanes don't end up landing Karlsson.
I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally hope that they have a single other idea next season that isn't just "dump it in, retrieve it, and hammer endless shots from the point." If they add Karlsson, that would be them just leaning even further into that one gameplan. Never mind how much they'd have to move just to get him, and to make room for him within the cap. Really hope it doesn't happen.

  6. Yea it’s got to be burns going the other way otherwise it’s just weird. What analytics have they found now to accommodate all these risky dmen?

  7. The scuttlebutt around Karlsson is that the Kraken are really trying to fit him into their cap, actively fighting against the canes – it's one of the big reasons for a lot of their minimum rate picks like Hayden, Studendic, and Schuldt (plus picking up Daccord for a very reasonable 1.2 mil on his official bump to the NHL) and letting Sprong, Geekie, Donato, and Soucey go without qualified offers. They're wanting him to essentially be the veteran teacher to the younger players

  8. im happy with the canucks signings no over paying no long term contracts, low risk lots of potential. Playoff maybe but not a bottom team

  9. 5:00 … I rethought some of the contracts as the day went on. Contracts that looked bad at first were just the new normal under this market.

I still don't like the OEL signing.

  10. Carolina getting Karlsson makes no sense with the blue line they already have, just as is made no sense back when Sharks got him. While health surely had something to do with it, it's no coincidence Karlsson has a career year after Burns left the Sharks.

  11. I hope you have an awesome vacation! You deserve it for all the joy you bring us.

  12. The nhl is a garbage league. Hockey is dead, it sucks. It’s all about money and cap space. I hate hockey now. It’s shit

  13. I keep waiting to see who the next sucker signs Ondre Kase to a 1M dollar deal to eat popcorn in the stands all year because he gets injured in training camp and is out for the year.

  14. Considering Anaheim has the most avalible cap space and are rebuilding, I'd imagine they'd be the broker in a karlsson deal

  15. I had the thought that the Canes are one of the few good teams that could potentially trade for Karlsson so that Bunting signing just makes no sense. Seeing the Orlov deal I assumed Karlsson was not going to happen though.

  16. wings fans are so excited about ghost. steve saw all the facepalming from the holl deal and decided to have a pretty great rest of the day

  17. as a leafs fan I love seeing assets acquired for picks go for nothing, while the core that fail every year demand more money and extensions, and a returning coach that doesn't know how to make playoff series adjustments.

  18. Please explain the Red Wing signings when you get a chance. I'm getting mixed emotions from other fans and want your honest opinion. In Hockey Guy I trust!!!

  19. Let’s not forget that not long ago Karlsson was considered to have lost a step, and a player who is on one of the worst contracts in the entire NHL. All in all he had 1 very excellent season, and 3 fairly lousy ones during his last 4 years. He could very well end up being the mistake of this off-season for a GM in the NHL. I personally wouldn’t be wasting assets, as a team like Carolina, that really doesn’t need him. I wouldn’t be wasting assets at all as a GM on any team for that matter. You’re never going to get another year like he just had out of him again. I could see Dubas doing it, because he’s in way over his head.

  20. Wings will not be in the playoffs with the team they currently have. Have not addressed their lack of scoring.

  21. All these many player movements are too much. Fans need to be energized by new blood on their favorite team. It's the same story every year now.

  22. This Duclair trade aged well. My theory is that the GMs across the league are being super stingy. Everyone is playing hardball. I'm not sure if it's due to the competition or anticipation of the cap going up. In either event I would see this as Duclair for low cap big man forward, 5th rounder, and Evan Rodrigues. Very good❤

  23. I think Yzerman is ready to contend again I think he honestly does not just want to be in the playoffs. He wants to make a deep run to. What are you guys think?

  24. Boston not adding centers makes me thing Bergeron and Krejci might be back next year, that or they just don't have enough cap or brains, lol

  25. Slavin-Karlsson
    Orlov-Burns
    Skjei-Chatfield

Pesce traded to clear some salary and open up the lineup spot. Boom
