mete is definitely an nhl caliber defenseman
Mete has value, believe me. He's a fast, reliable defensive d-man who could definitely get montreal somebody worth while. I don't mind him, but I'd say sell when the stocks are high.
Mete is very solid and can move the play well but his size can be a hindrance at times but he still deserves a full time chance in the NHL, if Mtl can get close to a 3rd back then I’d be relatively happy considering the value of the market is weird rn
Montreal definitely do t need him I say they should trade him before he’s worthless. I don’t think he’ll get traded in the division but who knows. Not sure who’s worth him but I’m sure the gm could work his magic.
One for one In my opinion i dont see Ethan Bear Growing as high as alot of other Young D man do and How the Edm D line is We need a upgrade and someone like Mete would play well with Nurse or Barrie and the 4 pick because Mete has more Skill and more flexibility in the league with what line he can play on

I think that mete could be used for a first round pick or a couple of second round picks or a prospect. But he is waisted in Montreal but could be really good somewhere else. I wouldnt be surprised to see him gone by the end of the season.
I think we could get a pretty solid package.
Mete had a crazy good +/- in 2018-2019 with MTL. He does everything right on the ice besides point produce. Depending the team he goes to (the defensive core of that team can play a factor since he could play with allstars that can make him shine brighter) he could fetch us a 1st if not a 2nd and 3rd.
Mete isn’t bad, he just doesn’t do any one thing very well. Jack of all trades, master of none type of player.
He never scores but he’s a smart and fast player.
Keep him, in case of injury. Re-evaluate after season
In my opinion, I'd keep Mete to give to Seattle so they pick up Byron and that cap hit. Maybe you add one or 2 picks from our 14 this year

In my opinion, if other canadian teams are trying to get Mete, ill be asking for alot because they are in the same Division. I dont want them to get better so they are gona have to overpay.

I would say trade him, and try to get either a defenseman or draft pick or something similar back. There is no shortage of forward depth on the habs, at least in my opinion, but they really don't have any defensemen I can think of outside of the 6 playing.

Here’s the thing mtl probably doesn’t want to play against mete so of it’s in the division, bergevin will most likely ask for a lot. I don’t see him go for anything less then a second round pick if it’s in the division and even that might not do it. Other team wants mete bergevin seems perfectly happy with him as an injurie assurance so i don’t see it unless a team wants mete bad enough to make mtl look like the clear winner

Mete is a victim of numbers right now. With the addition of two new D men in Montreal he has slid down the depth chart mostly because of his size or lack there of. Bergy is known for liking to have lots of depth on the back end, so that being said I don’t see a trade coming unless we get a bunch of injuries and a need arises. He’s a young puck moving defence man with around 170-180 games experience but doesn’t score a lot of points. So I think Bergy keeps him for insurance until the end of the season and then moves him for cap space.

Second rounder would be great . I would take minimum 3rd rounder . U can't take much money back cause of the cap. Free up a little more space to spend next year. There's not much difference talent wise between flurey and mete at this point . Plus oulette played pretty good in the playoffs last year . He looked better than mete against the penguins and flyers last playoff .

Doubt Mete has a whole lot of value. Yes he's mobile, but he's not great at defense and he can't win a board battle to save his life.
Main reason why he's sitting. This defense is built on big, heavy, physical defenders with some good mobility.
You put Mete out there and he sticks out like a sore thumb.
If we can get a 2nd rounder for him, that would be fantastic.
Mete can easily be replaced by Fleury or Ouellet. He's by no means a key cog to this team.
