However, if the Bruins’ 2024 first-round selection is an eventual top-10 pick (following the annual draft lottery), Boston will have the option of retaining the pick and transfering its 2025 unprotected first-round selection to Detroit. The Red Wings will then have the option of sending that draft pick or their own first-round pick in 2024 to the Senators to complete this trade.

I remember seeing DeBrincat in Red Wings gear as a kid when he was coming up with the Blackhawks. I’m sure he is excited to go home and I’m pumped for Wings fans because I think he bounces back big time on that roster and a great contract moving forward.

Glad for Detriot, gets them firmly back in the playoff picture but I feel like Debrincat is not a team player. Bet he jets in 5 years unless they can keep enough cap space/win a lot which is the recipe NHL GM’s both want and can’t (so far) have. I mean if anyone can do it its Stevey Y so we will see.

I know they’re not ‘rivals’ but that’s a 40 goal scorer you just sent to the team you’re competing against for a playoff spot next year. I know the Sens have depth up front but this feels like it might bite them in the ass
