  1. He was getting better every year in Ottawa and anybody who was watching enough hockey at the time knew this trade was wildly lopsided.

  2. Zibby has been great arguably since day one. You’re a little late with your opinion on Mika but it’s ok I really enjoy your videos so far. Mika can also play with anyone you put next to him.

  3. Meh… he was a super soft, under performing DJ wannabe in Ottawa. That said it was a terrible trade for a Ottawa and those door knobs threw in a second round pick as well. Don't care about losing Z but the trade really pissed me off and showcased the GM's incompetence. It felt like Ottawa had to lose every trade they made for three or four years almost like paying a penalty to the NHL. Ottawa's cheapskate owner got what he paid for and karma kicked their ass. He's a great regular season performer but not a guy that will bring you a cup.

  4. Zi Ban A Jad. I wasn't happy when the Rangers traded Bassard. The way Rangers then GM Gorton told the fans we'd love this trade, it seemed he knew he got a steal.

Top PK for the team. Rangers PP is for Fox or Panarin to get the puck to Zibanejad and for him to shoot or "shot pass" to Kreider.

  5. Ninima for Ribeiro …

    Gomez for McDonagh

    Drouin for Sergachev …

Patrick Roy trade wasnt a good one either XD

LeClaire and Desjardins for Recchi …

Adam Oates for Federko , McKegney.

But I think the WORST of them all … Was Brett Hull for Rob Ramage and Rick Wamsley

There is other trade quite bad(like Yashin, The great 99, Dionne , Neely …and others)

… but Ill end it there

  6. Swedish commentator in WJC 2012 pronounced his name as Zibaneyad. (The j is a y) when he scored the GMWG.

  7. Ottawa always gives away really good players. It will never be like Alfie and the boys ever again. Alfie, Neil, Spezza, Chara, Fisher, Heatly, Kelly, Phillips, Karlson, Emery and Hasek omg the list goes on and on and on

  8. Sens traded him in 2016, made conference finals in 2017. He was not a playoff performer in those days and in some ways the trade made sense at the time. Years later, he has had a good career and has done well in the Rangers organisation.

  9. How Johnny Hawkey tells all of his subscribers that, even if his life depended on it? He couldn't figure out how to even put the equipment on. Nevermind ACTUALLY watching enough hockey to pronounce names right.
Buddy you have ZERO clue that THIS player you're talking about , told Ottawa to trade him, because he was "walking" when it came time for free agency, and that he wouldn't be re-signing with the club.
Sure hope Mr "Hawkey" here has a day job. Lmao

  10. The pronunciation is Zi(zee)-ban-e-jad, or soften the j for a 'ya sound.

  11. Mika is a complete 200ft player, great scorer yes but if you look he’s often in the middle of defensive scrums as well. His chemistry with Kreids is something special but he’s a fantastic player in his own right. Whoever in the Ranger brain trust snagged him saw his obvious talent.

  12. How do you watch a guy play hockey for years and still not know how to say his name? Don't the commentaters say his name all the time?? I'm confused.

  13. You think that’s bad sens fans? How’d you like to have given Adam Fox to us for a 2nd the way Carolina did?

  14. they gave up on zibanejad so early…
this trade was one of the worst trades ever

  15. No one should ever give anyone shit about not pronouncing a proper name correctly. Cause frankly there's no way to know. Unless you know the person in question and they told you. Because that's how proper names work. The only person who get's to decide how it's spoken correctly is the person who owns it. Which is also why several guys "Correct" pronunciation has changed over the years. Brad Marchand for example has been Mar-shand and Mar-shond at different points. And he's completely in the right to do that. But no one else get's to decide.

  16. Lol as a Rangers fan I was so sad that year as Brassard was my favorite player on the team. Could not be more happy to be wrong

  17. again, like clock work, you have no idea what you're talking about. sens traded z as one year remaing rfa that most likely would have held out or offer sheeted out of their price range.

  18. As a Swede, we say Zi-buh-neyad. But his name is persian (he’s half finnish/half iranian) so for the proper pronounciation you should ask a persian. 😅

  19. For anyone surprised the dude was 6th pick 1st round. He has always been projected to be good. His one timer is up there with Ovi and stamkos. Not the same level of course but he’s getting there.
