You cannot place a goalie in the A tier. They are the most unpredictable prospects. Luke Tuch has more potential then you think, could be a great 4th line guy. Xhekaj should be in the D tier. Joshua Roy should be in the A tier.
A bunch of bottom 6, decent goalies and good defensemen. That's great but who is going to score goals ? That's why we needed to choose offense in this draft.
I am worried about Lane Hutson. He is so skilled but I'm sorry about the hype. I really do want him to succeed. I'm just waiting for his size as a defenseman
I was impressed by Mailloux over the last few months and development camp. He has a weird body shape where his legs look like tree trunks and he plays a physical game. He is going to be a 2nd pairing defensemen. He is not going to be flashy, but he’ll eat minutes and fight on the boards.
i think roy could do well as a 2nd line player, but the fact that he has such a good 200 ft game might inevitably put him on the third unit with beck. they'll get a lot of assignments vs opponents' top lines. i can see a fourth line role for kapanen. he probably won't be more than that. farrell seems to me to be the type that needs to be in the top 6 to thrive. he has the talent, and he could be this year's RHP. ultimately though, i think he gets traded. too many small forwards. mailloux i am extremely high on. i think he's a guy who can get 20 goals and 50-60 points while playing a physical game. he'll be with guhle at even strength and hutson on the PP.. between guhle-mailloux and hutson-reinbacher, i'm not sure which is the first pairing and which is the second. and i'm not sure it matters. kidney i think will catch on, and have a career of some length, but i'm not sure much of it will be here. i think he's one of those guys who a team who's not that deep down the middle would pick up, and puts up about 40 points a year. but for us, i think he's a trade piece. tuch and xhekaj will have to be 4th liners if they're going to be anything. and if pezzetta is florian's ceiling, we could have waited longer to draft him. engstrom could be a top four dman if he wasn't here. even so, he'd look good next to arby. in case of injury, he could move up into a top 4 role. mesar…does he have the defensive game to be a third liner? if so, keep him. if not, maybe he goes instead of farrell. i think one has to be dealt. we have too many smurfs as is. i still think we should have taken kulich instead.
when the time is right, i think our trade pieces are: harris, barron, kidney, farrell, cgy 25 1st. and probably anderson, at some point. and we need to acquire a 1st line forward with some combination of this. monty can hold the fort in net until dobes and fowler are ready.

Oh oH….you don't have any forwards in the "A" level. That worries me moving forward. At least Laval should perform over the next couple of years.
