If anyone wants an explanation kinda what management were thinking… there was a big drop off from forwards if we had went Leno.. they weren’t taking michkov for a multitude of reasons…aside from the actual player he’s signed for 3 more years and you have no control over his development or rights… meaning he’s not getting enogh ice time, there’s nothing you can do , he's developing bad habits ,nothing u can do, he gets traded to another team and gets sent down.. etc.. you can’t even get him in your rookie/devlopmeant camps….he’s got the offensive skill but hoenslty they looked at him and as a sub 5’9 one dimensional winger that’s not the best skater and doesn’t rlly project many of the qualities teams at looking for in a complete player… there’s absolutely no guarantee that when he comes over he’s going to be this two way 90-100 point winger that the media and everyone assumes he will be… I rlly think it’s going to take alot for him to get to that caliber, strictly because he’s not 6,3 220 and a complete beast like ov was and a guy like kaprizov came into the nhl at 25-26 and played a much more explosive style of game…I think it’s crazy to assume he’ll step into the nhl and be 100 point player… a lot of people around the nhl project him closer to a taresanko which I totally see… with everything going on in Russia and it was also reported his dad tried to get him out of his contract early and we all know how terrible that situation was.. messed up world… it’s a rlly uncertain and unknown situation, are system is so loaded and we have so many studs that are under 24 including Suzuki cauf + blue chip prospects… we’re not like Philly… we were in no position to make this gamble at 5 in pivotal year of rebuilding, when they had a chance to add this crafty, long rangy defecman who is head and shoulders the best dman of this class and wasent getting past zona … I also think they believe in Hughs ability to add via free agency or trade 1 or 2 more high end forwards with experience to Insolate these young forwards and fill out are top 9 rather than having to look for that calibre dman down the line… Huston and reinbacher will step in and solidify a loaded blueline as we start contending.. the more I look into reinbacher the more I’m impressed… The more I watch this kid the way he skates and sees the ice he’s got that little mans handle in a big rangy defenceman…he could be that type of player back there we need so desperately.. filling that now is calculated long term play… People are frustrated we missed out on that top 4 , who look like they can be elite type of forwards but with there was a bug drop off in forwards if we had went Leno .. where we were sitting at 5 this was a great pick
I also wanted Michkov or Leonard but, I understand why they picked Reinbacher. We have many needs and a 1st line RD is one of them. So, they filled a need. Upset people, please understand this pick. We can not pick everybody in the draft. It takes a D longer to develop. Picking Reinbacher right now is a good strategy for when we are expected to be competitive. The other needs will be taken care of in the future. For example: trading for Newhook. We will have a good 1st round pick next year as well. One of the reasons that we passed on Wright last year was because of his attitude (remember the stare). Hearing that Michkov has an attitude as well. Gorton and Hughes are not going to buckle for the fans like everybody has in the last 30 years. They are going to build the right way. I trust them.
Talk about the embarassment of riches we have now. We can't even decide who the first pairing will be coming a few years from now. How many other teams have prospects in their farm system that can rival what we have?
Lookin at Toronto being unable to build a decent playoff contending defense despite all the star forward they line up… I understand the pick… not the sexy pick but it could be the picks we actually needed
You actually have to go back to the hurricanes of 2006 to find a cup champions without a top d that didnt have a hof career or drafted top 5… washington didnt have a top d but they needed the 2nd best goal scorer in the history of the sports…. and thats their only one… it speaks VOLUME!
My issue with the Reinbacher pick was that the Habs could have traded down and selected Reinbacher. A lot if people say that Arizona would have taken Reinbacher at #6 but I can't help but think that Arizona was all in on Simashev. His rankings were all over the place between 9-38 up to draft day and he is a left shot. I think the Habs could have dropped as far as 9-10 and still picked Reinbacher plus snag some late first- 2nd round picks.

The whole future defense looks nasty.
In 5 years. they could be the top pair on most other teams You can't win a cup without 4 good defensemen.
As bonus we got rid of Druin.
Attaboy Trop
Guhle, Xhekaj, Reinbacher, and Mailloux. Opposing forwards are going to have to keep their heads up.

now you are happy but you are one of those guy that brought all that shit about David
Great vid!
Our D lines are gonna be insane.
Mailloux is a beast with great offensive skills. He may ultimately be #1
You REALLY think Lane Hutson will overtake Kaiden Guhle on the first pairing????
No way your Top pair has a 5-9 165 lb .Not in rhe NHL ,maybe PlayStation.Did you Not watch the NHL playoffs???

Nice, so who should the third winger be for Suzuki and Caufield?
Lmaoooooo i thought guhle and mailloux was top pair. Of the future 😂😂😂
You made a video bashing the pic 😅😅😅
When did Guhle ever drop below 1st pair? Lol there is no world in which anyone surpasses Guhle in the forseable future.
Don’t expect Reinbecher to be a 1st pairing Dman.
Michkov refuse to attend the flyers development camp
