“The Best Coach In NHL Hockey”

#nhl #hockey #torontomapleleafs

The Columbus Blue Jackets recently hired one of the NHL’s most hated coaches in Mike Babcock. After being hailed as one of hockeys greatest coaches, Babcock’s treatment of his players has been a topic of discussion for years. In this video, we break down how his firing marked a change in what the NHL expects from their coaches.

  1. I'm a sales coach and I really like a lot of Babcock's message. He's made mistakes, but seems smart enough to learn from them. Everyone deserves a second chance. The league is better w Babcock in it.

  2. Iron mike will always be the worst in my mind. This is a reflection of the very modern way of the world, when you have a greater understanding of the psychological impact of punitive measures and the media pressure to adapt, to be successful he WILL need to change his ways… it will be a loud ticking clock in Jarmo's ears if he doesn't… I honestly think this will end poorly, "a shit leopard doesn't change his spots…"

  3. I think m b is a fine coach i think all the spoiled brats in Toronto and media pressure brought out the worst in him.
Also imagine having a nervous breakdown because your boss is hard on you (in a highest level setting)

  5. This is called pandering to the "QUEERS" on the team, coaches have to butter up the powder puffs, so they feel welcome!!!

  6. You don't win cups by playing it safe, you take calculated risky moves. If he actually reflected on his past and has adapted to current methodologies and best practices, Columbus may indeed become a very dangerous contender. Only time will tell.

  7. The Modano thing is the one that really pisses me off ! He's Bad for the NHL . Bad for Hockey . Hope someday he enjoys coaching in Hell !

  8. Lets just hope he learned his lesson from the shit show that haooend in Toronto. Columbus should be decent next few years with him an the few players they have.

  9. Mike Sullivan and Paul Maurice both stand firm on the line of being harsh while keeping good relations and being that strong leader. More coaches need to model their style from these fellas. Aint nobody following their hockey dreams want to be coached by people like that one peewee baseball coach i see all over youtube yellin at little kids like he'll murder em if they don't win. Everybody on an NHL roster wants to win and the times where they are treated like they don't, have passed. its time for teams to move passed Babcock

  10. Some of you guys are so soft. He is a hard coach. He coaches his players hard. Demands alot. This is a sport where these guys are getting paid a ton to produce and its his job to get the most out of them. I cant say all of his methods have been great. But the guy has won at every level. He hasn't done anything crazy to not deserve another chance at coaching. For every player who hated this guy, there were lots of players who played their best under him. Franzen played his best hockey under Babcock regardless of how much he hated him.

  11. CBJ are a nothing franchise but mayb Babs can get something out of them. Good place for Babs to go hide and get his feet under him.

  12. Bullshit… And for thoses who think that Columbus will make the playoffs next season, hummmm… No way !! LOL

  13. There are so many better options as coach than Babcock. And about the tactical thing. He's a great coach when he has great players in a known system. He has never shown an ability to elevate a team otherwise, or in this case is unlikely to have the Jackets punch above their weight. I sincerely hope for Jackets fans and the org that all of these words just become receipts

  14. Columbus really needs structure. Perfect hire in my opinion. And let's be honest, if Laine can't get to scoring again under Babcock, he's not going to turn it around.

  15. What he like compared to a current player? He strikes me as a Ryan Suter type of asshole, thinks he’s better than all and visibly looks like he’s restraining himself from attacking when critiqued.

  17. I feel Babcock’s shenanigans stalled the Leaf’s development. I truly believe he was the right man for the job, but his ego and drug addiction was too much for this team to handle. Everything the Leaf’s have finally implemented into their game the past season is what Babcock was trying to teach prior to his firing.

  18. Only time will tell if Babcock has changed . For the record , I don't think there's a coach out there that could make the Leafs or Oilers Stanley cup Champions any time soon .
