Amazing that he would have been a top 5-7 pick had he been 2 inches taller. He doesn't look much different in size than Quinn Hughes.
His size IS his advantage based on his skillset. He is the perfect size for his game.
Habs have so many young talented prospects playing and developing. Can't wait for the season to begin.
Why isn't he signed?
5’10 ain’t even that short 💀
Why is Hutson not playing centre? Wouldn’t be the 1st time something like that happened…
Is Cale Makar big enough to play with the Avalanche? Stoopid question….
Depends how they deploy him. Give him O zone starts and powerplay and pair him with someone physical and he should be fine. I mean, look at Erik Karlsson; defensively he's a pylon, but he just won the Norris.
I think he is well aware of his weight, i'm sure he'll gain muscles
He has the smarts, very much. His puck IQ is way above many.
well said Rick, Lane is not the guy to take others off the puck physically. He is so smart, he wants the puck
With so many talent the only thing is gaining muscle. In extra kilo's. See Makar. Montreal needs a QB for the PP!!!! Give the kid some time.
And Playoffs? That's over 2 years or more!!!! Time will tell……..He needs good development from the right coaches!!!
Caufield is playing. Hutson is no smaller.
He can use his talants to the advantage he can out quick the bigger guys i think he will be fine good hockey IQ can make up for some short comings
He has the skill, no one doubts that, but I’d feel a lot better about his chances if he was say even 5’10” and 190 pounds. Hopefully as he gains weight he won’t lose too much speed. There’s no way he’d be effective in the NHL at his present size. As a forward maybe but not a D man.
As long as they keep Guhle, Xhekaj, Mailloux around and bring in some bigger forwards then I see Hutson doing fine.
It’s not about limitations etc etc. The best of the best of best means you need certain attributes.
Unfortunately, size is one of them. Sure he can play in the NHL. Can he win it all at the NHL. That’s the real question…
So annoying. Shrimps defending shrimps.
YES.
