  1. This is the video that taught me how to do backwards crossovers. I watched this when I started playing hockey, and Iโ€™m not so good at backwards crossovers, I can go at top speed. Thank you so much.

  2. I've been learning to skate over the last couple of years and I still can't get the backwards crossovers…

  3. These videos are a life saver! Im still practicing and holding the balance is the most difficult. Seems that I'm having way too much weight on the toes and not the middle part of the foot and therefore i cannot hold the crossover.

  4. This is incredibly useful – decent long video with long demonstrations, showing the whole action multiple times.

  5. Best explanation out there .. with full tips/micro-details. There should a '1000 likes' button for this. Thank you!

  6. Hi, Other coaches say that turning both shoulders into the direction that you are skating into would give you better stability and control when doing backward crossovers. You mention swinging your arms.

  7. I don't know how you can create a tutorial with instructions clearer than this one. Big thanks!

  8. i havent skated anywhere in 10 years, ever since i was 8-10 and i remember being able to go at a really high speed without doing all of the c cut, just crossing over seemed to be faster, i dont know if it was cause i was like 45kg at the time so i didnt need to push my whole weight or something maybe, i miss skating

  9. I started skating a couple years ago and now Iโ€™m absolutely obsessed. With the help of your videos Iโ€™ve learned backwards crossovers and the feeling is like magic. I simply cannot get enough, Iโ€™ll skate for hours straight. Everyone at my tiny little local rink thinks Iโ€™m crazy! Thank you so much.

  10. As I develop my backward skating skills, I'll keep coming back to this video to keep me on track with great form. Really, really solid reference video. Thank you!

  11. Started playing hockey as an adult and wish I'd found your videos a couple years ago.. watched a ton the last few weeks and already my teammates have been commenting that I am improving. Thanks so much Sean! And I know you've heard it a bunch but your instructional skills are top notch ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Hey Sean, great video. Would you recommend sharpening the blade to the very ends of the blade to the holder to enhance the C cut? I sharpen my own skates with the Sparx and I have it set to the lower 1/4 for the grinder. Thx
