  1. Forwards are goodnin thevtop 6.. Defense and goaltending aren't great .. A playoff team but not much else..

  2. The only reason Bert was up and down with Detroit last year was that he couldnt stop blocking shots with his hands. It was two unfortunate injuries, kind of what u get with the way he plays. He will block every shot, he will hit the ice every shift, and will fight everyone in the arena for his teammates. His only faults with Detroit was he was a tough negotiate for his contract, and he also was a anti-vax idiot. Both those things didnt sit well with Yzerman, who was always a team first guy. Toronto will love him, he is a blood and guts kind of guy.

I loved Bert, but he prioritized and over valued himself in Detroit. I wish he had taken a team friendly contract and he wouldve been forever loved in Michigan. When he goes to Toronto for less than what he was asking in Detroit leaves a bad taste for Wings fans.

  3. Poor defense, and unknown goalie situation. Yeah sounds like a Leafs team if I ever heard one.

  4. Haha… I really, really hope Willy will leave because all you ignorant and stupid leafs fans don't deserve him… He's the No1 player on the team and will leave a GIGANTIC void that will be brutally visible when he's gone…

  5. The smartest thing to do would be to keep the core 3 together long enough until you Tavares contract expires. Once that 11 million is gone, the leafs will be in a much better spot. Honestly I don't know if I can see them winning much as long as tavares is around.

  6. Nylander is soft. Probly never ever win a cup. Would rather cuff a team and put a team in cap hell than work with a team to win a cup. No "I" in team there bud.

  7. Even if they sort Samsonov they have Matthew, Nylander, Bertuzzi, Domi, Brodie, Klinjberg and more on expiring deals next offseason. Feels like they will have a harder time next offseason even with the cap increase, but who knows how things will shake out.

  8. I wish the Leafs still had Bunting to go with these new signings… he'd thrive not being the only rat on the team.

  9. love the acquisitions, it might be nice to see them upgrade the backend by trading one of the big guys and hoping the new ones pan out. I like Reaves, reminds me of habs legend Nate Thompson

  10. Why do GMs always pick up forwards over defence itā€™s so annoying we know Toronto needs defence

  11. Iā€™m so sick and tired of hearing about the maple laffs. Even some clown has said theyā€™re are joint favourites to win the cup next year. Obviously written by an idiot who loves the laffs. Havenā€™t got past the 2nd round in how long. Give me a break.

  12. You got Murray figure wrong. If they buy him out, the penalty is 760k against the cap; thus with Muzzinā€™s LTIR, they would have 1.2mil in cap space.

  13. I would take Samsonov one year and deal with it next year because likely woll will be good and ready

  14. Nylander should get 9.25 and when Marner is back he should get 11m and Mathewā€™s get 13.5mil. JT if he returns 2 years from now then he should get 9.25mil. That would give them enough to get a good dman

  15. I believe the TML made moves to acquire players with toughness and add some sandpaper/grit as well as scoring. Overall, I agree šŸ‘ with you Hockey Guy about the bottom 6 and goaltending. 100% šŸ‘

  16. Leafs should take a year off from NHL. let the fans know just because they win a round it doesnt mean stanley cup winners. They must play 3 more rounds. Only when fans realize this leafs should return.

  17. The Toronto Maple Leafs biggest hole over the years and I have been watching Hockey for over 50 years has been GOALTENDING!!!! Except for Felix Potvin and an older Ed Belfour they have never had a topflight Goaltender going all the way back to when they traded Bernie Parent back to the Flyers in 1973. So I guess you could call their goaltending woes the "Curse of Bernie Parent". Great video Shannen as always.

  18. but Willy Nylander is under contract for this year, big difference from when he sat out until the last minute. I would just keep him for the year and even the playoffs and see if I can sign him after the playoffs, more money will be available, and if not, so what, he walks. Better than a bad trade.

  19. Unfortunately people make this a bigger deal than it is. I would argue what's worse is teams like the Ducks having to sign someone like Killorn for $25 million just to try and reach the cao floor lol.

  20. yess i new mat domi was gonna end up on the leafs
domi legacy to win a cup with the leAFS

  21. Really shit takes on the goalies ā€¦ clearly donā€™t know a ton about Woll. Also Sammy was a top 10 goalie last year – they have a sick tandem

  22. I wonder why sign Bertuzzi and Domi when they already have Simmonds.. donā€™t get me wrong I like the signings of Bertuzzi and Domi I wish I can see Simmonds in a leafs jersey as well

  23. the murray cap hit actually saves 4mil next year, his cap hit would only be 687,000. they would then have a 2 mil hit the year after. so that brings them to 800k under the cap. im guessing they move either jarnkrok or both lafferty/timmons to get samsonov signed

  24. I think the leafs are looking for a change on defence via trade. I believe GM Tre has said he wants to get bigger on D. There could very well be more massive changes to this lineup before camp.

  25. i'd slide domi in2c and tavares and marner on the wings. DeBrincat got 7.75 AAV while he avg more goals per game than nylander

  26. THG makes a video about a different team: people sleep
THG makes a video about the Leafs: bring in the views

  27. With Nylander gone it sure would clear up a ton of cap space and it sure would be nice to put that money somewhere else like a stud goalie or D. I don't hate him but the Leafs have enough snipers without him!

  28. Same problems. Who will they rely on to shut down top lines in the playoffs? offensive weaponry is less important than D and goaltending in the games that matter.

  29. Klingberg signing showed that BP guy doesn't know the modern league. they badly needed shutdown guy here but BP guy signed literally the D man with the worst defensive impact in the league. Klingberg rn is a marc Andre Bergeron type player. Every minute hes on the ice in a top 4 role 5V5 hes hurting you. Jake Mccabe is more of a complimentary fringe top 4 guy as it is, that 2nd pair would get absolutely cooked. Most teams realized you need 3 great pairings. The leafs are somehow content with having a brutal bottom 4 D

  30. My Concerns about the Leafs: Defense: Soft in front of their net, have problems getting out of their own end (can Klingberg help this?) & generally soft overall (the loss of Schenn didn't help!). 3rd and fourth lines: Identity and secondary goal scoring. While admittedly a pipe dream, if they could get J. Toevs as 3C it could do wonders -setting a true shutdown line allowing Kampf to slide down to 4C giving an enrgy line that was more defensively accountable.
