Happy for him. Hopefully he’ll get a real opportunity and some line mate stability to progress.

All the best for the guy. In 2-3 years he can anchor a great third line for a Team that will by then be nowhere near the bottom of the League anymore (if he doesnt get a 2C Spot even)

I think that’s pretty good value for Montreal. If he did indeed just need a change of scenery, and has a Kirby Dach-esque resurgence next season, this contract could become even better for them.

Where does he fit in on a rebuilding MTL? He needed to step up here and fill a vacant role (with a lot of Championship pressure), but won’t he also be expected to step up and fill a role in Montreal (without the extra pressure to perform immediately)?

I like Newhook and saw some hopeful moments last season but really glad we didn’t re-sign that kind of deal. The trade worked out great for all sides it seems.

He had his shot… didn’t capitalize, oh well. I rooted for him.
I guess, now he’s just someone we used to know…

Grab that bag son. Hopefully he elevates his play to a level justifying it.
