Hey wayne been a minute! He has a vet presence and cup knowledge but there hasnt been any other mention besides this vid of the fact he is also a 1st overall pick defenseman (2006 St Louis) so now we have 3 first overall defensemen in our D core cant wait for next season
leafs got screwed the most from the flat cap. They just signed the core 4 assuming the cap will continue to increase. So now they need every dollar put into their team to be spent. Would be nice if they kept like 1M open to add at the deadline. Im sure the figure it out, they always do with Brandon Pridham.
To jump on your Leafs rant. I told my friend who is a super leafs fan and i said the same thing to him. Why are they going for scoring forwards (and hear they are looking at SJS Karlsson(who really is like another forward)) and filling the gap of what they need. Goalies and dmen. Their fans are crazy tbh. Ray Ferarro actually said something to the effect of, the players they lost, and the ones they gained…I feel the team they had was better than the team they just traded for.
Erik Johnson is a very good player, one year deal is no big deal

Harrington is the worst… the way he even asked him about retiring was stupid. It was something like "Did you think about packing up and going home?" and EJ was like dafuq you talking about bud?
Some of the Buffalo sportswriters have the IQ of a rotten eggplant! Gleason and Harrington were the worst examples of aubergine pourrie. Or is it auberge?

The Leafs and the Rangers are the poster children for maxing out their Caps and failing to succeed. The best part is, these are two of the teams that forced the league to adopt a Cap structure. They were over $100M when most other teams were at or below $50M.
@Roam Hockey, have to hand it to you wayner you said handy acquisitions could be made after Reinhardt, Eichel trades. Erik Johnson wants to develop with Tage, Cozens, Dahlin, Quinn, Power and the rest. Well done Sabres org GMKA,
Harrington also asked Girgensons about retiring at the end of the year press conference. Both Harrington and Hamilton are terrible reporters, but all teams have bad eggs in their batch of reporters.
Wayne, on the one hand you have often said Buffalo fans need to raise our expectations. Then on the other, you decry "negative people", which I assume I'm one of cuz that's all the flak I ever get.
But when I can point at a FACT, such as no retained salaries, as clear evidence that we're NOT doing everything we can to get to the Cup, let alone win it…..and when these mistakes will cost the team long-term, i.e. w/ a competent GM we could have built a true dynasty for decades (and now we'll be lucky if we bag even one Cup)……

If all ya ever see is through rose-colored lenses, I want no part of that noise!! GMKA has made some great trades but apart from this FA class, he's really been bad. We keep drafting the same forwards over and again; keep spending high draft picks on a blue line (that hopefully FINALLY is solved); he rostered three bums last season and some of us knew we were a playoff team except for those bums, and look how close we missed by; regression to the curve is VERY real and I think he's getting a lot of credit for mathematical realities……
I'll never ever EVER give anybody or team a free pass. If logical perspectives which do not paint the team and management in a great light aren't welcome, that sounds like a cult to me
You will like this Wayne, im just east of Toronto and surrounded by leafs fans so when i saw a few yesterday i called them CHEATERS for being 8 million over the cap. Those fools think Treliving will be able to trade Matt Murray ,( to get them under the cap) good luck with that , as no GM will help them ! They will have to buy him out as i dont think you can have more than one contract on LTIR?
Thankfully this is the last season they can use Muzzins contract on LTIR!! I hope Muzzins wins a lottery and screws the leafs by retiring! 😂😂
