Nylander must go, get something good for him. Management needs to manage, not the players.

Keep Nylander this year as a rental that we do not have to bring in at the trade deadline. He is as good or better than any of the players that will be available and he is familiar with John Tavares and a PP specialist. Good luck Leafs we should be a better team in 24. 🎯
I am still not sure if Nylander would go to Calgary, but if so how about trade him for Tanev and Zadorov and a 2nd rd pick. Trade Brodie for a 3rd pick. Then use those picks and maybe a prospect to get rid of Murray without a buyout. That makes your pairs Rielly-Tanev, Zadorov- Klingberg , and McCabe- Timmins. Trade Lilligren and Jarnkrok to get upgrade on a winger to replace some of Nylanders stats.
Wouldn't trade anyone to Dubas, period.
I would trade Nylander for Guentzel. He's better for playoffs and better defensively

Nylander and a 2nd for Wilson and Fehervary. That trade would completely end the Leafs lack of toughness
Leafs are built for a first round exit.. Unless major changes are made to the core with some snot, snarl and backbone it'll be groundhog day all over again.
Alex DeBrincat just signed for 4 seasons at $7.8 M AAV per season and he has scored 40 goals twice, doesn’t mind forechecking and body checks. Alex also plays a 200 ft game unlike the 50 ft game played by Nylander. Nylander still wants $10 M+ AAV!!
Between JT and Marner – they are overpaid about $4 to 6 Million. Of course that screwed the Leafs in the playoffs in recent years. Nylander isn’t really overpaid right now – and Leafs now still have the opportunity to sign Nylander to a reasonable contract (of course not for $10 Million a year). Why start overpaying Nylander just because JT and Marner are?
Ok – it does help Toronto’s Eastern NHL rivals if Leaf core 4 get overpaid – yet doesn’t it make sense for Leafs Executives to start making wise decisions – like say Vegas has done? Or is that an impossibility?
I would say there is a 95% chance Murray is bought out. No one has cap space and the bad teams with cap space want too much for a bad contract.
not out of disrespect but i think matthews should get the C this year, clear first line centre, he leads this team, has gotten more vocal and mature and about to get a massive contract, propel him into the all out driving force of this team.
you know minnesota is paying parise $7M right today on a buyout, considering the buyouts around the league and nobody is paying murray $8M its 99% he is getting bought out considering much worse buyouts around the league…robertson and brodie maybe returns a second but probably a 3rd pick, theres no top 6-9 spot for robertson he will play in the marlies or get traded i hope
