Are the Senators better now than when the off-season started?

Are the Senators better since the off-season started? What does Alex DeBrincat’s contract mean for William Nylander? Are the Sabres a goaltender away from playoff contention? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins Jay Onrait to discuss all these questions and more.

  1. Of course they're better. They lose Debrincat but add Kubalik, Korpisalo and Chychrun, and they likely have one more move. The Cat trade was to try make a playoff push, and if not for injuries they likely make the playoffs, considering they were only 6 points out

  2. "I see DeBrincat as a 28-32 goal scorer at best" ….he says, referring to a guy that's scored 40+ twice before

  3. Overall, they are better. Chychrun for a full season, bringing in Korpisalo, and Kubalik bringing in depth scoring helps a lot. Now all the Sens need to do is find a replacement for DeBrincat at 2LW.

  4. Nylander isn't worth anything near 10m, he has done 40g only 1 time but that's all he's good for, he's a defensive liability, he doesn't hit/fight and he's a ghost some games.

  5. Detroit isn't that far from ottawa I'm not buying the I want to Plat at home crap.

  6. Senators are definitely better. They have addressed all of their weaknesses and still have the cap room to make some moves. They will be a top three team in the division this year. You heard it here first. It's going to be hilarious watching people get triggered as Ottawa get some more attention.
