Today we’re focusing on more prospect talk for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, with an emphasis on the top guys. However, when speaking of the top guys, you usually see the following: Alexis Lafrenière, Tim Stützle, Quinton Byfield, Lucas Raymond, etc. In this video though, we’re talking about a few other guys. We’re focusing on the USNTDP’s best player, left-handed shutdown defender Jake Sanderson, and the Erie Otters’ dynamo right-handed defenceman, Jamie Drysdale. Both of these guys are great prospects, although some have them in that conversation of also potentially being selected at the very top of the draft.

  1. Man, if the red wings fall to 4 I have no idea who I want and will just stop thinking about our first round pick and just trust Stevie on draft day. With that said, I could really see us picking Drysdale, Sanderson, Stützle(I know small chance he falls to 4) or Raymond. I feel like Its a small chance but could see a trade back for Lundell if he really wants a center. I’d be shocked if it’s not one of those 4 but who knows after number 1 this draft could go anywhere.

  2. I can see dry being top 2 but I don't at all see sanderson, too many amazing forwards Sanderson can be a top 10 but not top 3 I would be pissed if my team took him at 3

  3. Im a Kings fan and this year I couldn't be happier to draft anywhere in the top 10 this year, and considering they can only drop down to 7 is amazing. I hope they can snag Drysdale bc there forward prospects are stacked and we need that elite defensive prospect. But if they somehow jump in to the top 3 and grab on of the top three forwards; ie Lafrienere, Byfield, Stutzle ill be ecstatic. but even if they drop to 7 the picks 4-7 can be either Drysdale, Raymond, Holtz, Rossi, Perfetti, Sanderson. I'd be happy with any of those prospects.

  4. I'm more on the Sanderson train than drysdale. I also liked makar over heiskenan. D men are hard to tell look at soderstrom you made a vid recently about it. There hard to gauge

  5. Drysdale is the only defenseman that should go before 10, Drysdale should go in the 3-5 range but Sanderson absolutely shouldn’t go higher than 10. The forwards in the top 10 are too good to pass on for Sanderson

  6. It really seems like Lafreniere is flying above this draft and then the top 10-15 picks will be good. Looks like Ottawa will be a powerhouse next season…

  7. Personally I’d prefer the defensive defensman. The league has some how changed so much over the past fifteen years favoring the guys like drysdale though so to me it’s certain he will be picked first. Overall I’d still take the forwards in this draft that are top 7 over both these d man.

  8. Sanderson is all over the rankings. If you already have a 1A dman on the NHL roster Sanderson would fit into that pairing for first line. He is like a Ryan Suter type defender who is steady and not going to make mistakes on the PP or PK. I would not expect Yzerman to reach that high for him unless Steve gets a crazy offer to trades back then it is Sanderson or Askarov time.
……..I would not undersell Drysdale as he was on a bad team that could not control the puck without numerous turnovers. Drysdale was busy for sure on that team trying keep his team afloat (as a defender of all things). Skating, he does not pivot or turn his back in transition versus rushing forwards which is uncommon, blazing reverse skater keeping his eyes on the puck carrier, then allows the goalie to make his play. Bored? probably exhausted trying to cover all that ice every game. Drysdale stepped up his game in the tournaments where it would be expected a young prospect could falter.

  9. Imaginee picking a defensive d man top 3 like wtf? Just sign them in the off-season

  10. The kings should trade their second overall pick to Detroit for their 4th overall pick and a top prospect and pick drysdale at 4
