In today’s video, I look at Ryan O’Reilly and the possibility of him returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs next season. He’s going to command a lot of money in NHL free agency, and there have been reports the he could return to the St. Louis Blues.

He's going to be paid better somewhere else but I hope he stays
I think there's a huge gap between what O'Reilly would get on the open market, and what the Leafs need to do under the cap. What he said on the weekend might just be an attempt to drive up his price with other teams. I'd love to see him stay, but I don't think it's in the cards.
100% agree with you, Leafs need to get younger and faster. Look what Knies gave us in the playoffs.
Word amongst the ice crew at ScotiaBank was that ROR was furious with the too casual attitude to losing oozing out from #34 and #16. He had no intention of coming back once he got a taste of the "It's okay to lose" mentality from the so called leaders, and no pushback from Keefe, JT, or Dubas. Work site gossip it may be, but makes a bit of sense too, so who knows? Totally sucks, because he's exactly what the Leafs need.

Ryan O'Reilly is gonna be pulling a Doug Weight. Keep signing one year deals with St.Louis so they can keep getting assets by trading him at deadline. Leafs will look to pick him up again IMO.

A number one D man or Connor Helybuk is needed more. O’Reilly knows the Leafs are nowhere near a Cup.

Honestly I wasn't as impressed with his playoff performance as others seem to be. He wasn't terrible, but he wasn't a difference maker either. Just my opinion folks.
I can say the same about others who get paid to be difference makers and weren't like Marner.
Look, if I was GM and I had to trade one of the "bog four" it would NOT be Nylander, the one in that group who has been a steady playoff performer!!
It's Marner!! YES, he's an elite player in the NHL, no doubt!! But if forced to move one, and we all know Tavares isn't going anywhere, and honestly he played his ass off in the playoffs!! It's Marner.
You can get a solid return for Marner and a smart GM could scoup up some of the missing grit element that could very well put this team over the top!!

An underrated thing with the leafs locker room that i think is a mistake is JT as the captain…ive always said since badcock named him the captain it shouldve been rielly or matthews…5 years in and the leafs play like JT’s demeanor…a robot who kinda just goes through the motion…ROR looks like a talkative leader and i think the leafs need some1 like him
Please don’t resign O’Reilly he’s too slow and will be too expensive. His production is declining and cannot keep up with the pace of play. It would be a big mistake if they do.
