Yes, the player I grew up watching, before he became a coach.

Orlov. He scored this goal for Washington where everyone was behind the net and no one saw he had the puck, skated to the front and just wacked it in. Ever since then, I love em lol
MTCarcus
Ian Laperriere, if he played for your team you understand.

Growing up in MI during the era of the Russian 5, my favorite was always Slava Kozlov for some reason and everyone thought I was nuts. And tbf i dont even remember why he was.

Nick Foligno. After a dude dropped the gloves and started trying to wrestle him, he was trying desperately to avoid going to the box, so he kept the gloves on and ignored him. He got called for roughing, and as he skated by the ref he said “so next time I should beat his fucking face in?”

Cody Glass.
Played for my hometown Portland Winterhawks, and was the first pick in team history by Vegas. Stoked he’s finally seeming to get his footing in the NHL and was re-signed by Nashville.

Alexei Zhamnov. Back in the 90s, when he played for the Jets (I’m from Winnipeg), I used to play hockey with Alex Steen and Craig Carlyle. Their dads, Thomas Steen and Randy Carlyle, then on the Jets, would come out to practices and skate with us. They would occasionally bring Zhamnov out with them. The guy was super nice, and he quickly became my favourite player. Still think of him as one of my favourites, entirely based on skating with him as a kid.

Justin Danforth, so much so that I wear 17 too. Always hard on the forecheck, always working hard, all of the hustle and determination that it took to make the league, all around great story.

He’s not the best defense player we’ve ever had but he’s amazing at hyping up the crowd by dropping highlight reel body checks completely out of nowhere. He’s also a really nice guy in real life and has done a lot to make the NHL more inclusive.
