People often ask if McDavid needs to win a Cup in order to be considered the GOAT. McDavid has already achieved what no other player achieved before him : play the game with an unprecedented speed, intensity, wit, leadership and intelligence. He makes hockey more beautiful to watch than ever, making non-hockey people watch the game more closely. Winning the Cup will be so well-deserved for McDavid. Nevertheless, the Cup will simply be the topping on the ice cream — a topping that will reiterate his already more-than-obvious GOAT status.
