Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a conversation about delivery pirates after Loc told the story about having packages stolen from his porch. From there, we looked at the Ryan Nugent-Hopkins rumours that have popped up over the last week or so, and whether or not I think he’ll actually be traded ahead of next season. As much as I understand the idea of trading on a high, the reality is that the Oilers would be hard-pressed to find another player that provides the same value and versatility for the same price they’re paying RNH. I don’t think it happens. From there, we looked at Phil Kemp’s fresh contract after the 23-year-old defender signed a two-year extension with the club yesterday. While there’s still a ways for Kemp to go before cracking the Oilers roster, there’s little doubt that signing this new contract is a nice step forward for the seventh round pick from 2017. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with me kicking off the bidding on a signed Ryan Nugent-Hopkins jersey that the boys will have up for auction on the show next week.
