I like Slav but I fear the worst for him. He will suffer many concussions because he's big and keeps his head down. He won't finish his career in the NHL.
One of the reasons he wants to get better at breathing is because he needs to pay more attention to his surroundings on the ice. A better breathing technique increases the focus!
I think that Slaf has learned his lesson. He knows, he has to keep out of dangerous situations. He knows how. With Monahan and Newhook or Anderson he could find his place and gain confidence. There will be more successful players than him coming from his draft year, but if he stays healthy and adds grit and competitiveness, and work on his puck protection skills, he will become an indispensable player to the Habs for several years.
Slaf's attitude has been top notch all of last year. He was barely out of puberty and never played North American hockey. Lots, and i mean LOTS of good players had shitty rookie season..including Martin St-Louis. I have full confidence in the kid as long as his attitude and work ethics stay the course
Ive always believed that going from a big rink to a smaller one means it happens faster. You have to be able to think fast. Being bigger might not have schooled him in that. But mtl will have some really good big examples left, right and in front of him. Go Habs.

Put him to line with Filip Mešár…u will see 😀
I remember when he played with monahan and anderson this line was great.

Hockey is a VO2MAx sport, when it comes to lung capacity. You can call it maximum oxygen consumption… Can't wait to see the improvement of Slaf!!!
Thanks
