I agree 100% and was just as shocked when it happened. Refs being responsible for the lose I cant say but their decision did alter things unnecessarily.
The Panthers did not get robbed. They lost. Repeatedly.
McCauley is off the rails at this point. Blowing phantom whistles. Not calling be-headings for the first 2 periods then he will call ticky tack stuff in the 3rd. He hates the Leafs who are 0-11 in playoff games he's reffed. The last Leafs playoff game he reffed against Florida the Leafs got zero powerplays for the first time all season….against the most penalized team in the league. It was also the first game the Panthers weren't penalized all season. That's just too many coincidences for me. The guy is absolutely biased and over manages every game he refs.
If the refs were calling the intent to injure penalties throughout these playoffs then Tkachuk & Bennett would've been suspended in the Bruins series & the Leafs series against Hathaway & Knies. Panthers wouldn't even have made it to round 2 on that BS hand pass call on DeBrusk after a slew foot & cross check to his back that took a goal away. No calls against Vegas & Oilers. The refs helped both of these teams to the finals. I don't think the Leafs were though enough to hang with the Bruins & Canes were too banged up. In my opinion it should've been Oilers vs Bruins in the finals.
Didn’t Vegas get called for offside on a rush when Smith was clearly onside? Why not talk about that? Vegas scored a minute later.
I've never seen so many people come up with excuses for a team that is clearly inferior in the cup final.

been the whole series. Hill can spear, slash and hit Tkachuck with the blocker, no call. Tkachuck hits Golden Boy Eichel with a clean hit, gets attacked and received a 10 minute misconduct. F off NHL.
Don’t blame the refs because the Panthers play like assholes. They should’ve had 2-3 guys suspended for that post-buzzer scrum after last game. Not to mention the fans throwing trash onto the ice. Fucking embarrassment all around.
The ref could have called both penalties goalie interference and the cross check.also in the dying second there were countless penalties could have been handed out Tkachuk could have got a suspension for his stick around the neck of Pet. And the the sticking swinging afterwards. Pet for getting in an altercation after leaving the penalty box.

Was a simple mistake. We all do it.
Panthers are playing with 2 lines and one player with Tkachuk and Duclair hurt or unable to breathe. That's pretty sinister when you've already shortened the bench. A lot of the time it's two lines against 4. Vegas also has the best and deepest Dee.

Leafs fan here: over the last few years, Leafs are 0-9 when Wes McCauley is the ref. Would not surprise me in the least if he has an agenda during playoff games. Plus NHL officiating is the worst of any sport, even boxing,

I’m not even a panthers fan and I thought it was a bad whistle and honestly could have changed that whole game who knows. BUT refs make bad calls for every team, all the time it’s just part of the game as frustrating as it is.

A ref can call halt to play if he loses sight of the puck, and that is not a NEW RULE, it has been around from the beginning of hockey!!! There does not need to be any penalty call. What about game 5, did the refs call too many penalties there??? Maybe he should have called an "excessive goals" penalty on Vegas.
Of coarse it's all rigged.. there's more money to be made if we can have two more games.. it's all rigged by the networks..

I think Vegas cheated by messing up the goalie crease so the panthers goaltender couldn’t make saves in the finals allowing the knights to score multiple goals during the the series. I think the league should look into this so that next season every team can a fair chance of winning the cup. Tell me I’m wrong Vegas fans i dare you asses to tell me I’m wrong.
