If Karlsson wants to come to Toronto and San Jose wants to take Willy back, one for one; I can get my head around that deal.
Keefe is reasonable and already has the skinny on every player in the system.

Random thoughts:
I can't see Treliving going into July 1st with no agreement from either/or Matthews and Nylander.
I'd overpay just a bit for Schenn. He did us good, Big Time! Keeping certain players with the club is just good foresight.
Marner is a great player, but doesn't show up when it counts. With two years left on his contract, he could center a massive trade where a much needed 1st pairing D comes back, or can be acquired somehow.
Treliving has a history of fixing up the D group. I fully expect this to be a priority.

Karlsson is a good player, but Nylander has the speed AND the skill, so it's not worth it, but I would still like to see Karlsson on the leaf, just not for Willy Nylander
I honestly thought this deal could happen. But there needs to be more salary going out even if San Jose retains a percentage.
I think Knies fixes a lot of problems the Leafโs had on the top 2 lines. Might see him playing in all situations come playoff time. Would be nice to see Kerfopt resign for a cheap contract. We canโt keep losing our depth players and expect to win.

I think the only way Toronto could afford to trade for Karlsson is of they basically traded Nylander for him. If I remember correctly, the Leafs are pretty much right up against the cap.

Keep Camp for the PK. Kerfoot has NO finish and got pushed around in the playoffs. No to Karlsson! Leafs need a tougher Dman then Karlsson. Surprised Leafs didn't get Toffoli, buy NJ will like him.

I don't think I would bring in Karlsson, too much money and term for a guy that is one dimensional. Sure a few more points from the blue line wouldn't hurt, but we need a guy that can clear the front of the net, block shots, hit, and crash and bang. The leafs could bring in two or three guys that fit that style of play for the money that EK65 is gonna cost for the next 4 years, not to mention he's on the wrong side of 30, they might give up a lot of assets and his play could decline as early and this coming season. He's definitely not gonna be 100 point dman again. I hope they know what they're doing, but I guess that's why they get payed millions to make those decisions and I don't.
Trade Austin and bring in depth and picks. Be has been a leaf for 7 years and he didn't get it done. Austin must go, If he was a great player he would have done more and the team could have been playing for a cup

No the problem, was the powerplay not working for most of the playoffs, so change the players, which look more like a free for all and lost in space, then the dreaded blind behind the back pass to no one, is always a good burn for the team!!!
When you have $55 Million on the ICE and you get scored on twice on the same powerplay, that needs to change!!!

No one has won a cup with a player making 11 million or more. Matthews has never had a dominate playoff. The Leafs aren't winning anything with Matthews making 13. I don't even like Nylander's play but if I were him I would want at least 10 million if the Leafs were giving Matthews 13. Nylander had the same 40 goals that Matthews did last year. His playoff numbers are nearly identical. In fact, if I were any player looking to be a Leaf I would be looking for every penny. If you can't win, you might as well get paid.
Karlsson is everything the Leafs don't need on defense wrapped up in a single player. Please go out and get some big tough guys who won't let the front of the Leafs's net be a parking lot for other team's forwards. The kind of guys who will pummel any player who touches Samsonov or Woll.
Kerfoot and Kampf. I would prefer to move on from them. Let Holmberg take 4C and get a bigger tougher guy to take Kerfoot's place. That said, if they are giving Matthews 13 it doesn't really matter what they do around the edges, the cap is going to be fucked again so why worry about it.

Karlsson has been the biggest bust of a contract up until the first half of last season. Now at 33, ppl think he's worth 9 million? Or Nylander? Lol that is so baffling to me. He'll get paid and fade back into irrelevance by December.
100% agree with you on Kerfoot and Kampf – these guys both need to go! Karlsson….only if you don't give up the farm. I would rather they try and go after 'Seidel' from Detroit Red Wings. He's young, 6'2", 200 lbs and hits – bigtime hits.
What about getting JT to waive his no trade? $11MM and on the downside of the curve!
