Happy Saturday everyone. We’re going to the movies today- a big deal for us. It’s a 35 minute drive to the nearest theater and we’re going to see “Sound of Freedom”. I’ve heard so much about this movie and how human trafficking is increasing in our country. Hollywood hates it- so I want to see what the buzz is all about regarding this film. It is supposedly based on a true story.
Human trafficking is wrong on so many levels. Our daughter works with young women who have been sex trafficked- here in America- and imprisoned. She says that sex trafficking is very real and something happening everyday in our major metro areas. The small, non-profit legal group she works for deals with hundreds of such cases each year.
But first to de-stump a tree and saw some cedar logs.
I’ve been seeing a bit of discontent for Lucas Raymond lately, and it is sort of puzzling. He had a sophomore slump? It’s not that crazy. He’s going into a second year in Lalondes system with better players around him and I’m confident he will rebound. Weird that there’s so many people who are down on him in only his 2nd season. Just an observation.

Learned that Ken Daniels’ dog is named Jack (Daniels). Iconic dog name there
From what I’ve seen (& heard) from him, I think Nate Danielson is going to make a way stronger than expected case for the Opening Night roster. Not that I think he’ll make it for multiple reasons (busy roster and he’ll have a bunch of skills to develop), but I’m confident he’ll turn heads and stick around for most-all of preseason. All around impressive kid so far.
Edit: Also there’s going to be like 4 young guys (excluding Nate) making a convincing case for maybe one NHL spot in camp & pre-season. No matter what that’ll be an exciting thing to watch and should bring out the best in all of them
