  1. Right handed defensemen are very hard to come by & you barely know what you're talking about when it comes to defencemen they are money in the bank we needed a defensive D or we would never win a Stanley Cup because you need at least one & here it is 🤔GO HABS GO 💕

  2. Confused more than disappointed…losing 31 and 38 picks created stress for this pick given there is no second chance after the 5th pick and they did this to get a 5’10” forward I guess to take care of offence and then picked a defence man over what we were told was a generational player in Michkov…so yes confused. Like many on this channel, I still have my reservations about Slaf as a first pick and last year did little to make me feel better…trust has to be earned. And I am also confused if I trust this management

  3. Wish they took a chance on Michkov but Reinbacher should
Be a very good D . Many scouts say he’s a better defenceman than Guhle was at this age.
So most likely he’s a top pairing D

  4. Don't forget how stupid "experts" thought the Carey Price pick was at #5 because we had Yann Denis already. In the words of a young Price #ChillOut

  5. 100% ok with this pick. Who knows what Hughes has planned for the free agent frenzy. More trades, few signings, I trust the path Kent is taking us on.

  6. this whyyou are not a GM…as you said, they were a lot a good point player available in this draft, but we all know that a defenseman with a general attitute is pretty epic and tough to find…now we got one…..don't forget that we don't have price anymore in the goal,we need a general at the blue line like markov was couple years ago…i think the did a great choice with david,he is already used to play with big grown men in his league….more like a futur roman josi, maybe some karlson too 😉

  7. when you build a new team you build up the middle. goalie, defense and centre. i have also been told that you don't draft by need but by the best player available. at that point you work around him. i don't know either, this is definately a wait and see.

  8. I have nothing against Reinbacher. He'll probably be a good Dman with the habs. I just feel sorry for the kid, he didn't decide to be chosen at 5. The habs fanbase is not very forgiving and even if he is a decent Dman, I feel that for the next decade the fanbase will consider him like the guy that was picked over Michkov instead of being his own thing. Let's hope he breaks free of this image or else the pressure on his shoulders will be unbearable.

  9. So i just watched an interview featuring his captain in the swiss league and the guy says he's like a Roman Jossi and will be a top D man in the NHL for sure. Hope he's right.

  10. I love how people like to pass judgment while sitting outside. Like the one saying goes, " Never assume, as it makes an ass out of you an me."

  11. I don't know why so many are getting bent out of shape with this pick. Reinbacher is a solid player and very talented defenceman which Montreal desperately needs on the back end. Hughes is building a foundation and no team ever goes deep into the playoffs without a good defence. Everyone take a deep breath and forget the so called "sexy" pick. I personally think the kid is going to be a great addition to the club and congratulations to him.

  12. Wow, get over it Drew, really? This kid is going to be great for many years.

  13. All my hope for the habs futur has been crushed… what a fat L! How far do you think david would’ve went if he wasnt right handed?

  14. Defense win championships. Look at what the Habs did a few years ago, it wasn't the "Elite Fowards" winning those series, it was a strong core D.

  15. we needed a RD and now we have him, what is there to be upset about…….he will not be here next year as he has 1 year of education needed but was the top rated dman and a RD at that so a big hole filled so a win win…heck I never thought of him till he was picked but I understand no Michkov as a few teams said his interviews were a disaster….and some who do not think his game will convert to NHL…

  16. I specifically remember just a few days ago, Habs management saying, "We are going with the best available player". They DEFINITELY didnt do that. We drafted for position, AGAIN!!! Habs NEED scoring. We NEED goal scoring, like Michkov, or Leonard (Leonard's style of play is awesome, he's fun and exciting to watch, dude hits when HE has the puck! lol).I was talking to my buddy when we were watching the draft, he is a Habs fan too, he said imagine they draft a defenseman!!! lol, i was like NO CHANCE!!! I soooo wanted Ryan Leonard, and when i seen that he was still available, i was stoked. In my mind i was thinking it's DEFINITELY between Leonard, or Michkov, i thought 110% FOR SURE, they were taking one of those guys, and I WISH they would have. We are going to regret this for a decade and a half. I bet we would have gone with Will Smith if he was still available, FUCK!!! (sorry!).(The commentator guy was talking about Ryan Leonard, he said this kid has muscles in his face!!) lol. Michkov is going to be in his prime, and on an entry level contract, so ur probably getting at least a 40 goal guy, maybe more on an entry level contract, so he's making max $950,000 i think it is!! I am sooo saddened by this pick, i woke up this morning, all was good, until i sat up, and remembered what i witnessed last night, then i felt like i got kicked in the nuts all over again… I know he's a defensive d man, but come on, he scored THREE goals in 46 games last year, THREE!!! And that isn't in the NHL, i think it was Swedish Elite league. Im sure Reinbacher is a fine defenseman, dont get me wrong, but he shouldnt have went 5th. If Toronto made that pick at 5, i would be laughing my ass off still, it would have made my day!! lol. But it wasn't toronto, it was us. 🤢 Ive been so confident in Hughes and Gorton so far up to this point, they've been doing such an incredible job, and then this happens. I could have gotten over it, if they didnt take Leonard, or Michkov, but at least go with a forward! Last night if they would have gotten fired on the spot (Hughes and Gorton), i would have applauded!!! I dont want them to get fired now, but i just can't wrap my head around it, i cant wait to see how they explain this pick, without saying we drafted him because he was a right shot defenseman, two days after saying we are going to draft the best available player. They could have at least traded down a little and gotten a decent player, and still taken Reinbacher.

  17. Good D is critical. A big, strong, LD is a pretty solid pick. You see they are not going for flash (or flash in the pan) but looking to build a solid, championship team. Hockey is a team sport, and more often than not championships are won by gut and heart performances not superstars.

  18. Give the kid a break. If these so called experts in the fan base, you would be in the Montreal Canadians management. I want to see this guy shine and make all doubters eat humble pie.

  19. MTL turned down, apparently, from NSH: Askarov + 15 + 24, to get Rienbacher…Askarov seems like he will be a solid #1G for years to come, at 15 they could have taken (17. DET – Axel Sandin Pellikka, who is also a RHD) and 24 had solid Fwds available…sooo, yeah, this kid better be amazing or that was a baaaaad move!

  20. NUTS!…. though I listened to David in his interview afterwards and sounded like a sharp level headed nice team player. Haven't seen he play though

  21. It all starts in the back end. Strong netminder with a solid D corpse that can skate, shoot, play solid in its end is crucial to the winning formula. Reinbacher has all the tools to succeed. He should have a nice career in the NHL. Mitchkov would be available in 3 years time and will he really score 60 goals one day ? We got Suzuki, CC, Newhook, Slavkovsky with a bright future. Blend them with some solid veterans and we will have a nice brand of hockey to show. PAtience is crucial with a young team… Let the kids play!

  22. YOU GOT A RIGHT HAND MORITZ SEIDER THAT WILL BE A CORNER STONE FOR MANY YEARS AND YOU ARE CRYING ???? CALL THE CANES THEY WILL GIVE U A FIRST AND MORE SOME CRY FRY"S AND A WHINY BURGER
