Zadina’s WILD gamble…

Filip Zadina and the Detroit Red Wings have decided to mutually terminate their contract. This gives the Red Wings more cap space to possibly acquire DeBrincat. Zadina leaves $4.56M USD on the table. Will his gamble work out? Let me know your thoughts down below!

  1. You can't have shit in Detroit, particularly, Zadina

I agree, Bruins seem a good match for him. They need a discount player, he needs a team with depth to support him. I don't think the Oilers would be a good fit for someone to prove themselves, he needs to be on a team that will really rely on him to push himself to productivity and I don't think the Bruins are so offensively stacked that it'll make Zadina one of those guys that their best option is to pass the puck off to the top tier guys. Teams that are stacked with offensively strong guys can sometimes stifle people from reaching their potential.

Plus with Pastrnak as a star on the Bruins who's also Czech, there could be a good fit off the ice to help Zadina get built up

  2. Everyone on social media seems to be criticizing this but I think this is a smart move from Zadina. Going to the KHL is basically suicide for his NHL career, and the politics make going to Europe tough. A good organization with a million in cap and a roster spot can absolutely use him and perhaps even fix some of his flaws. There's still a lot of potential there and Zadina forgoing the money on his deal is proof he wants to be an NHL caliber player and a good overall sign for teams who need a cheap forward.

  3. How about the VGK? Bruce Cassidy has gotten the most out of his players to such a great extent that maybe Zadina could benefit.

  4. Reminds me of the Devils trading Zacha. Another 6th overall pick who ended up good in a different setting and system.

  5. The idea of Ken Holland taking him a second time in Edmonton is kinda humorous to me.

  6. I really think a lot of it is just bad luck. I'm sure he can do some things better, but watch these clips. The guy has all the tools and skill. The puck just hasn't gone in for him.

  7. Bust big bust he was given every chance to succeed in detroit ane he didnt make it hes not gonna make it he gave up 4mill like an idiot to gamble on his horrid ass good luck zadina glad you are off the books
