Excellent choice
Is our ideal defence core looking like, and if so when will they be ready?
Hughes- willander
Pettersson- Hronek
solid pickup. exactly what we've needed for years a solid mobile rhd. he carries himself extremely well and is very intelligent
he wont see the nhl for another 2 years or more
I'm good with Wilander š good choice
Lov the quote of ahhhhhh
Ahhhhhhhhb
We are ahhhhhh
Could of done worst ahhhh
This draft will be dissected and re-examined for years to come. Because this draft was so deep, a lot of teams in re-build mode, are hoping their pick will be a cornerstone piece they need to turn their fortunes around. I was extremely high on Zack Benson but positionally, and in terms of market value, Willander as a RHD was probably the Canucks' best option. A fast, mobile defense seems to be Allvin's vision with Hughes, Hronek, and Willander. Thanks for posting, Trev!
He is a massive sedin fan. The nucks are confused
Thought for sure Vancouver wood and buffalo musty
We got Benson linemates with Savoie
Fantastic pick. A RHD like him is hard to come by. He's smart and the route he's taking to the NHL shows he's a clever kid. He's going to be a great D in the future. Some Canucks fans are so full of negativity that it won't matter what they do, they will complain about it. They're more like Trolls than fans…lol. Great comments Trev
I like him and I don't care if Benson turns into a superstar, I don't give a shit at all.
The problem with taking Benson is that heās boom or bust. He does one or two things really well, and if those donāt translate to the NHL (and it has nothing to do with size), heās not going to be a bottom 6 winger. If he busts, then people get angry because they could have picked a potential top 4 D. Fans arenāt scouts, so we can say we want a player, but whatās that based on? Scouting reports. And scouts have been wrong before. Scouts are making educated guesses. Fans are cherry picking those guesses to come to their conclusions. I like the pick and I donāt get caught up in the racist stuff. āSwedes are soft!ā Tell that to the Samuelsson brothers. And even though he was injury prone, Forsberg (Peter) was a big, bruising centre who played to his size. I donāt care where a guy is from. Can he play and can he fill a role? Willander is 18, and we wonāt know for at least 2 years, like with almost everyone they could have picked at 11. If both Willander and Benson pan out, I take the top 4 2 way defenseman going away over the top 6 forward. Nobody is expecting Benson to score 40-50 goals. If he does, you canāt predict that at 11. They went with the more valuable position, all things considered.
I actually like the idea of other teams getting some elite talent, while Vancouver picks up some cost effective options; just enough to compete, but we need to lighten up the mid-section of the team. They ought to off-load some assets similar to the OEL buyout, then start making trades for some of these really good players.
canucks are standing at the edge of the water dipping their toes in the water. i was hoping they would move down and get rid of one of their undesirable contracts or trade the 11th pick for an established nhl'er. they had 2 picks in the first round and they traded one of them for a guy who came to vancouver in an ambulance. are you in win now mode or not? if you are, trade your pick. they seem to be halfassed about everything they do.
The problem with the Canucks is their cupboards are bare, they have no picks, they need to fire their scouts, Detroit got a right D at 43 and they could have traded down to get one of them. Watch Benson will play good and Canucks will trade away that D , because they have no patience to build a Cup winner.
Hi Trevor Iām glad Vancouver went with willander we definitely needed a rhd because they come at a premium on the trade And open market I called it too
