Do you remember what happened when Montreal traded John LeClair to Philly & John's age & size is very similar? Could the [EXPERIENCE] be a [GOOD THINK NOW]?
This could become Hughes biggest fleece!
It's a no-lose trade for Montreal. I didn't think Dadanov was going anywhere, and was shocked that Hughes found a trading partner for him. Gurianov has the potential to be a top six.
sizing up with a younger 25 year old player. Hope Coach St Louis can have effect on the player like with Dock
Meier to Montreal was just not in line with the aim of this season imo (suck and draft bedard or anyone in the top 5). In addition, it would've costed us assets to get him.
Likely to be used at next years trade deadline.
Dennis and Logan will be a riot to watch on the power play ..They will let the pucks fly from the right side all night long …
This trade was done because nothing else was possible before losing a player for nothing

Can live with Drouin and Hoffman, but I could not watch Davydov any longer. For every cute play he made, he gave the puck away at least six times as much, mostly with soft plays. He’s somebody else’s problem now. Addition by subtraction imo.
They have the remainder of the season to assess if they can unlock Gurianov's potential (if it's still there, he's only 25 so…scouts likely have an idea already that he has more to offer), he has skating/speed, size, quick release/hard shot, offensive aggression…if at the end of the season he signs elsewhere Montreal still gets a draft pick out of it based on the $$$ he signs for.
Likely they see a case like Dach… or Caulfield under Ducharme.
I think that's the 8th 1st rounder on the roster now.
Expectation management is huge here. Expect a sort of Semin-esque style player who is a PP specialist. Lucky for us, Dallas has had him in a more defensive role this season since his production has dipped, so he'll be thrilled to get top 6 starting off in Montreal. How long it sustains itself is another question.
Dallas let Nichushkin walk, too. He's turned into a force for Colorado. I think Dallas mishandles these guys.
Timo was not a fit for a rebuild. He could get 10 million a year.
