In their defense, a Rangers fan who I’m buddies with at the gym I go to has been frustrated with the way the Rangers have developed him. He wishes that they would have just thrown him into the fire with the top line and lived with his mistakes like what the Devils did with Hughes and Hischier. Who knows? Maybe he would have been closer to the player Hughes turned out be if they drafted him and thrown him on a line with Hischier out of the gate.
We gotta get over this. This guys just a TV guy so obv he’s gonna have bad takes and he’s a Rangers mouthpiece who always has to see the positive so he’s gonna have bad takes about the rangers.
Kakko vs Hughes isnt a debate anymore and it never was even before the draft.
Its like when Leafs fans kept dunking on Winnipeg for the Laine vs Matthews takes. There was no debate in that US center vs Finnish winger and its the same here.
No one actually thought this outside of the some NYR talking heads to push some ridiculous narrative pre-draft. The Rangers did nothing wrong AT the draft. Post-draft development is definitely a different question.

Absolutely, just not with the rangers. There is no development there and they just try to get big show vets.
If a spot opened up for kakko here I wouldn’t mind it just to let the rangers watch him flourish with a good team.
