Dirty hit by a notoriously dirty player. And yet there’s some Blues fans out there that would say this hit is clean yet crucify Kadri when he got shoved into cry baby Binnington…
You could call it dirty based on the target player being a dangerous distance from the boards and already in contact with another player. But he went down on his knee a tiny fraction of the second before the hit. That part wasn’t Bortuzzo’s fault.
Doesn't matter if players on a knee Bortuzzo initiates contact and drives his head into the boards and causes injury it should be a suspendable play how it isn't is beyond me
Bortuzzo took a lane to hit Pelech to ensure he couldn't drive the net with the puck, just prior to the hit Pelech went down on one knee from a battle with a different St. Louis player. Bortuzzo did not have a chance to stop his forward motion making the hit. A reasonable call could be a minor penalty for roughing as he made no attempt to not drive Pelech into the boards but not suspension worthy.
Pelech was on a knee. Defenseless. Bartuzzo could have avoided him but instead actually changed his approach downward to make sure he hit him. This should have been a major and a suspension.

The cowardly St. Louis player appears to check/hit a player that literally is on one knee, cheap shot all day long, imho.
Thanks for posting.

Doesnt matter if it was dirty or clean , he took a run at one of our best players and we didn't answer.
He fell to his knees a split second before being hit that’s on him
Bortuzzo hit a player in a vulnerable position, suspend him or at least fine him.
It might not be a good hit, but I don't think it is an illegal hit considering that the opponent fell immediatly prior to contact.
PELECH
