Well, this certainly is an idea.

Today we’re talking about the trade idea mentioned by Georges Laraque on his radio show, involving the Montreal Canadiens and Chicago Blackhawks. The idea goes as follows: the Habs trade centre Jesperi Kotkaniemi, prospect Cole Caufield, and a 2021 1st round draft pick to the Hawks for superstar forward Patrick Kane with salary retained.

I think it’s a ridiculous idea, but let’s talk about it anyway.

This comes after both the Blackhawks and Habs were eliminated from the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

  1. If Patrick Kane is 27.. You probably make this trade.. But he's 32 next month.. So you don't.. It's really that simple.

  2. Kane to Mtl? i didn't know Mtl had a 90 millions salary cap? Laraque is looking for attention, forget him, he's speeking non sense.

  3. “Sub 6’9”… We all know what you meant- I just thought it was funny because I’m pretty sure that covers everyone besides Chara. Pretty sure Meyers isn’t even that tall.

  4. Patrick Kane is one of the greatest players in history, still in his prime. The prospects are just that, prospects. Remember Doug Wickenheiser? Bet you Habs fans wish you had drafted differently. As a Hawks fan, no way I'd make this trade.

  5. All Chicago needs to do is retain roughly 9 million on Kane's cap… So 88% of it… Oh wait!

  6. Just Caufield and KK are too much, imagine with a pick! We are building a team, we won't sacrifice future for veterans. Anyway, Bergevin is way too good to make that kind of mistake that would make him to lose his job.

  7. No way No how. This not gainey where he believes vets are the key and not the kids… this is mb he believes in the youth moment.. so no way this trade going to happen

  8. I stopped watching your videos for stupid trade rumors like this. Stop listening to Quebec media!!!!!!!!! All they do is throw insane trade rumors to get attention. Im from Quebec and nobody takes these rumors seriously cause we know how ridiculous the media is here. PLEASE, don't listen to Renaud Lavoie, Tva Sports, RDS and even less fan pages like go habs go ran by hockey fans who are just making things up. Your channel has 0 credibility and it's a shame cause you're pretty well informed on prospects, but THESE STUPID TRADE RUMORS NEED TO STOP.

  9. Total clickbait. Montréal simply cannot do this trade. Like literally it would be blocked by the NHL office. Trading 2 players who are still on ELC with picks, vs a 10M cap hit player, when your team is already over cap hit, puts Montréal over the deadline limit cap space. The trade would be rejected by the NHL, even if Bergevin was planning to do another move to remove cap space after that.

  10. Maybe if Kane, and 1st round picks for 2021 through 2025 in return without the 1st going the other way then I might consider it for a second before rejecting. This would be complete lunacy. Why would anyone consider giving up possibly 50 – 60 goals a year plus a 1st round pick for a guy that might get you 30?

  11. Wish i didn't click the video. Always get sucked into watching the video by youtubes algorithm. I definitely don't enjoy the content

  12. As a Habs fan,I would stop watching if Bergevin did this-but honestly,it is a ridiculous rumor. Bergevin would laugh at this,as would every GM in the league..Giving up 10-15 years of KK,10-15 years of CC, and 10-15 years of a 1st round pick for maybe 3 good years of P Kane(when Caufield could be even better than P Kane)-especially when P Kane would NOT make the Habs a serious contender- is hilariously stupid…..no GM could help but laugh at the idea..only a naive fan would take it seriously.
