Erik Hall interview Glen Crevier, the former Minneapolis Star Tribune sports editor

Erik Hall, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch digital sports editor, interviews Glen Crevier.

Crevier was the APSE president in 2005-06 while sports editor at The Minneapolis Star Tribune. The Associated Press Sports Editors celebrates its 50th year in 2023.

Crevier points to hiring Jack Berninger to be the APSE secretary-treasurer and executive director as the greatest hire of his career. During his tenure as APSE president, Crevier made the decision to hire Berninger to lead the day-to-day operations of the organization, which Berninger did for 11 years until 2017.

Also as APSE president, Crevier faced the decision of allowing websites to join the organization for the first time, and ESPN and FOX became APSE’s first web-based members. He also talks about his efforts to revitalize region meetings within the organization.

Since 2017, Crevier has held the role of APSE conference coordinator, which has allowed him to remain revolved in the organization since his 2018 retirement from the Star Tribune.
