Up and down football program. High academic standards. We hope Nebraska can be decent on October 20. But if we cant beat a scandal team with a 1-11 record what does that say about us?

Pat was not really shown the door immediately. Hence the problem. After a 6 month investigation he was not implicit as knowing. Even though he should have and probably did. He was cut loose to sooth the masses. To me? When he was not directly fired, the newspaper stepped up the pressure with other stories about the Athletic Dept. Total mess. Just my take. Crazy

If Fitzgerald did not know, that's just as bad as if he did. Are you telling me that the locker room.and showers were without staff supervision with many of these teenage and early 20's players in there? How could the head coach not know unless his staff was hiding it from him. That locker room is his responsibility and he failed.
Regarding the Northwestern situation, these are just a few things as I understand them.
1. Fitzgerald is basically going to try and use Northwestern's initial ruling against them to say "You got the report, you didn't fire me then, what changed? You fired me because of public backlash, not because you actually thought I breached my contract.
2. As I understand it, Northwestern's donors are significantly withholding funding because they loved Fitzgerald. Chip Patterson on Cover 3 basically described it as "The faucet isn't flowing anymore, it's dripping." The stadium is currently on hold, and seems unlikely to happen.
3. Probably the better question to ask right now regards the funding they'll be able to get to hire a new coach. Nobody with aspirations of eventually moving on is taking the job. The guys Northwestern can realistically get are guys who are at under resourced programs who basically want to go make generational wealth to finish out their careers. However, if the donors aren't supporting Northwestern by the time they're trying to get a new candidate, that could heavily limit their options.

having a running back by committee where each running back has different qualities is a BAD thing. that's means depending on which back is in it will lead to certain play calls…the defense will figure this out. the goal should be each back should be a shadow of the first where the one goes out for a breather and the other fills in with the same playbook available.

Is there any interest in picking up Avante Dickerson through the portal? Or does he have any interest in coming back home to Nebraska?
It wouldn't hurt to reserve judgement about any recruits and how accurate their 'star grades' are until after they start playing.
When these guys actually step on the field and play meaningful downs, minutes and make plays, then we'll see how close they are to their pre-season evaluations.
W's are the only thing that eventually move the needle.
With guys like Brandon baker and Nate Frazier the question is do you want to go somewhere great like bama Georgia or Ohio state where you will be good. But forgotten because of the immense talent that goes through those programs or go with coach Rhule , help rebuild and be remembered forever for what you did. The skill will translate to the nfl at any program if you’re good, but the college football legacy is so much more in Nebraska. The love ❤ lasts a lifetime. GO BIG RED 🎈🎈🎈
I love how all these guys are clutching their pearls over the northwestern shit. While a few years back Ohio St are jamming their finger up opponents ass and grabbing jocks no one bats an eye.
