    >The combination of his low(ish) point total and zero minutes in the SHL are certainly not ideal for an 11th overall pick but that’s for the Twitter scouts who can read an Elite Prospects page to whine about.

Hell yeah, put them in their place. I don’t know if he was the right choice at 11 and none of us will have an idea until 3-4 years from now. I’m so sick of people talking about who teams should and shouldn’t draft when likely they’ve never watched them play, or at the most, very little.

Now I wonder where Faber would put the overall prospect pool of the Canucks when compared against other teams? Still think we’re 25-32 somewhere in there.

Dumb question but does Hirose not qualify as a prospect? I thought he had a good showing last season.

Looking over this list, I’m struck by a few things…

    1. How abysmal that prospect-pool is after a decade of being one of the worst teams in the league. This is the prospect-pool of a perennial contender drafting late in each round, not a perennial cellar-dweller drafting high.
    2. There’s not very much scoring on the list. Like, jesus! Where are our goals going to come from??? My god! Are we aiming to win games 1:0 for the next decade?
    3. At least it’s well-rounded.
    4. How is there no real high-end talent? After how bad we’ve been – for so many years? Again, my god!
