Peak salary is here. 50% of NHL clubs are losing money. The US TV contract pays each team just $ 7 Million a season. The Canadian TV deal pays a little more per team. Remember the salary cap is based on 32 team profitability not some arbitrary number. Half of the Leaf team will be new players in 2023/24 but the top half of the payroll will be the same guys.
