us goalies get trained like that now, the way hockey has changed shots can go high, so in every, or almost every goalie camp they train you to keep your glove up to cover the top corner from the shooters perspective, its not just subban, look at alot of goalies

ive tried it in practices and it helps when you go into the butterfly so your glove doesnt drop..i think it is EXTREMELY odd but it works
