I think that the Jets are better than last year for now. The offense is definitely improved and may be more defensively capable with Iafallo and Vilardi additions. I also think that if hellebuyck ends up staying goaltending is set. Only thing I worry about is the defense. Would love to see heinola or Chisholm make the lineup but the logjam needs to be fixed first.
Forwards are good first time 4 lines deep pending injury. I Agree can flip hellebuyck or scheifele later in season if arnt contender.
Defence bugs me most we were reported in on Sanheim and Philly was willing take pionk/Schmidt plus didn't happen. Stanley doesn't want to be here,heinola in same boat most likely and definitely dont want Chisholm feeling same way he should be on team. I wish jets would make one more big move on D. Either move out current guy Trade for a really good prospect/player adding B prospects and say a Dillon,Pionk,Schmidt.
I'd prefer someone under 25 like a Boqvist,Zellweger,Svozil,Mataychuk,pickering,Romanov,Brannstrom,Foote,Fabbro,Bean,Schneider types Young enough can be around next core Barlow,Perfetti,Lucius,Mcgroarty,Lambert.
B prospects like Torgersson,Nikkanen,Lundmark,Bauer,Zhilkin,Wagner along with guys like Gustafson,Heinola,Stanley. I'd also not mind same way got russian defenceman for gawanke. Who wasn't going to play for us if there's any interest even for picks in vesalainen,rashevsky,GarrettBrown contracts for something
I'd be fine if The Jets tanked these next 2 seasons if it gives us a great chance to draft top defenseman Artyom Leshunov in 2024 & top Center/forward Michael Misa in 2025. I'd blow up the team & tank to get those 2. The Jets wont be doing much the next 2 seasons anyways, so I'd tank if I were them to get those 2.
