Now that we’re past the draft and free agency it’s time for the yearly /r/DetroitRedWings prospect ranking thread! As for how you vote it’s completely up to you: some may weigh ceiling and/or upside the highest, others may prefer a prospect that’s closest to the NHL – there’s no wrong answer on how to vote.
A new poll will be posted every 2-3 days depending on how close the voting is until we finish the top 15 prospects. I’ll include 10~ prospects every poll and will add one new prospect after each poll so discuss in the comments below who you feel should be added next.
Check out the subreddit’s previous rankings here (starting from 2018!): [LINK HERE](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qmkO8YqMlR7TzWDaaWu9yMWKnIDTwNNe/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=112624943015473579853&rtpof=true&sd=true)
**NOTE**: Prospect criteria will be defined using the [NHL Guidelines](https://www.nhl.com/info/hockey-operations-guidelines).
**REMINDER!** Avoid downvoting those you disagree with in the comments, this whole exercise is focused on discussing prospects. People *WILL* have different opinions the farther we go.
**Candidates to be added next**: Tuomisto, Viro, Niederbach, ~~Hanas~~, ~~Buium~~, Savage, ~~Dower-Nilsson(s)~~, ~~James~~, ~~Buchelnikov~~, ~~Augustine~~, ~~Gibson~~, Doucet, Cleveland

Obviously not every player is going to hit, but the fact that there are still several prospects I’m excited about left to vote for shows how much the pool has changed in the last few years
Now the real debate starts.
I went with Augustine.
Should be Albert vs Amadeus vs Augustine. AJ will be my vote
Voting for Buch here.
Also it’s super exciting to see we have so many great prospects that someone like cross Hanas is gonna be around 15 lmao
Going Johansson here. I think I just value the idea of a potential 2nd pair D a lot. Yzerman sure seems to have mentioned him more than others in his press conferences though.
I’m going to go with Kenneth The Third here. I think he is as technically sound as Cossa is athletic. He put up one of the best seasons in NTDP history and there is a very real chance he ends up above Cossa on my board by the end of next season.
He’ll also fill our massive need of our own Michigan raised goalie.
Lombardi since 6. Not moving off him lol
AlJo should’ve been the choice last poll
You guys are sleeping on Lombardi big time. Maybe I’m overrating him at 3, but I can’t see any world where he’s a worse prospect than Soderblom or Johansson, who I expect to go here based on the sub’s votes
Not only is he 2 years younger, but he has all the tools to blossom into a star player. I’m super excited about him and I see something special there
#ITS TIME TO RATE ALBERT
The over rating of Elmer is wild. He was held up by a unique line of giants that matched up well, and didn’t rise to the challenge in the AHL.
Surprised Doucet hasn’t made it on the list yet. Obviously still have some people I’d pick over him currently but he is definitely over LDN / NDN / Tuomisto / Buium for me right now.
On pure offensive upside Lombardi is our #1 prospect. Is he likely to hit that? No of course not, but this kids talent is unreal.
lombardi believers rise up
Buchelnikov>Lombardi
Buch is flashing more against stiffer competition
The fact that we’re at 9 and there is still some debate is really awesome. I have to go with Lombardi for his ceiling. Johansson is probably NHL ready and may cease to be a prospect shortly. I wouldn’t be overly surprised if he’s on the team after TC.
