Nylander and Jarnkrok for Karlsson, Thomas Bordeleau, Merkley and 1st in 2025 and 2026. Prospects and picks is what we need because Dubas was terrible with asset management.
Leafs dump Robertson and 1st in 2024 to NSH for them to retain 4.5 million on Karlsson and Nashville gives Toronto Trenin.
Leafs then sign Cal Foote to the minimum on a 2 or 3 year deal.

๐ and we all thought having Justin Holl was bad. Wait until we add another offensive minded defensemen on top of Klingberg that play awful in their own ends and in the biggest moments of the season (playoffs). While it will look sexy when the offense is clicking, there will be times when the offense dries up during the season where they don't have puck luck or are just having hard times hitting the back of the net, the flaws of the team will be exposed and while they added a bunch of grit to the lineup they lost alot of defense overall on the team.
Karlsson makes Nylander look like a Selke finalist. Please no. The Leafs already have Klingberg who is terrible defensively, lets add someone who makes them better.
Unless the Leafs move away from having too many 10+ million dollar players on their team, they'll never be a cup contender. Karlsson is the last thing that we need right now.
Karlsson is not what the leafs need. If they are trading Willy. They should look at the Cannes or the Flames. Much better suitors.
Nylander for Karlsson -no brainer
Karlsson would be the worst trade possible. Where were his points in the last 5 to 6 years? Then suddenly he has a 100 point year. So was he not trying to get points any other year but suddenly decided to last year? I would not trade for him at all. At the least get rid of Brodie and try to trade for someone like Tanev to pair with Rielly and then get a 3rd pair lefty like Nic Holden (UFA).I don't hate Brodie but he has no physical aspect to his game at all.

Nylander Marner Mathews Rielly Travares could all have their worst seasons, Leafs miss the playoffs .
What would say to that ,
I don't know how the Leafs can afford him. They would have to give up Nylander, MM and the Sharks to eat some salary.

Like I keep saying if they don't break up the core four the leafs will not be going anywhere any time soon. Were losing players and get anyone good cause of this core four. They've had there chance over and over and they keep choking. Get rid of them all and change it up. All about the money and no show in the playoffs when it counts. SUCKS!!!!

Karlsson's age and his contract makes it a bad idea to acquire him. Also, we need guys who play a physical and defensive game. Rielly and Klingberg already do what Karlsson does.
