  1. I disagree big time with your "tremendous letdown" comment. did you consider the fact that he mostly played 9-10 mins in bottom 6 with not too talented offensive players, quite opposite ? and basically no PP. what lines and TOI and opportunities did the other players that you compare to received ? When Slaf played on 2nd line with Monahan and Anderson I think he had like 4 points in 6 games ?

  2. All the Habs rookies should have spent at least 3 months in the ahl. Transition from junior or European leagues. They all ended up in the hospital before the end of the season. Bad management decisions. Desperate to appease media and fanatics.

  3. What you fail to mention is all those other players were not on rebuild team's SLAFZILLA IS GONNA ROCK THE NHL NEXT SEASON JURAJ THE BEAST IN THE EAST GO HABS GO 💕💕

  4. The "let down" of J.S. was not his points per game average but more the fact that, even at 18, does not demonstrate any perticular high level skill set, like fast skating, puck handling abilities, hard checking, incredible passing skills. Most talented players can show off one trait the distinguish them….Even when they are younger and playing with men. IMO, Slav will NOT be a top 6 player in the NHL.

  5. I have been very clear about my views on Slafkovsky…. He is clearly the worst performing Number 1 overall since Thornton. He was mismanaged and it was clear he was very poorly prepared. I personally believe he was handled this way for one reason. Hi poor performance last year and likely poor performance next year will allow Kent huge to Sign him cheap to an 8 year deal ,,, where the Habs will hope he develops. Very similar to what Carolina did with Kotkaniemi deal.

Make NO MISTAKE … this was done by design… it was not an accident

Huge knows that the second contract is very important in Montreal

Compare Seattles brilliant handling of Wright where he has plain in excess of 65 games at all levels

Do not come back and say Slaf was injured because that injury was bound to happen because of his ILL PREPARATION

SLAF SHOULD have been in OHL
SLAF SHOULD HAVE PLAYED for his country in World juniors
And Slaf should have been part of development camp this year

    As Wright was

Who is better prepared going forward Wright or Slaf

    Wright by FAR

    THIS IS ON THE HABS

  6. If Slafkovsky can learn to keep his head up, I think he will be fine. If not, he could be facing concussions and an early exit from NHL hockey.

  7. Slaf was drafted in a non-generational nor bubble generational draft for size and the player he'll be in after years developing. His performance, limited ice-time and short shifts now explained by this specialized training he's now putting himself through with no guaranteed effectiveness yet likely will have some impact. I don't expect a breakthrough year this season but a stepping stone in the process. He does use his big body but needs to see hits coming and be prepared. If he becomes confident in that respect his game will grow, to what level remains to be seen but don't expect superstar scoring he wasn't drafted for that role.

  8. I have lots of faith in Slav he will be a beast in a couple of yrs, be patient he is only 19 !!!

  9. Slaf…the best is yet to come…I was less upset about his points total, but, far too often, how bad he looked on the ice.

  10. The words of the immortal Shakespeare—'Much Ado about Nothing' come to mind. Chill out folks, Slafkovsky is a stud and will be a dominant NHL player for many years to come [period]

  11. I’m still very excited bout Slafs future. The kid worked hard and seems dedicated. Looking forward seeing him in the upcoming seasons.

  12. I have faith in the Development Team and Slaf's desire to be better each and every day. He was only 18 and learning to play on our smaller ice surface. One step at time. For me he was progressing nicely just before the injury. He will not lose his height, size and power. We need to be patient.

  13. “Everyone” seems to agree…”tremendous letdown”!!????

    Based on what data!??!?!?

    Hyperbole much?
