If so, that would mean 1 or more players got grossly overpaid. But we all know already ya. Cap space under 300k, this is not looking good for 23-24 season. Oilers now a soft team with mediocre at best D and less then contender Goalies. A brutal and natural result of the very misguided "Win Now" mentality that the fan base insisted on, and Holland fell for. Ouch…
Give clouder more money for longer 3 years 2.8m Bouchard 2 years 3.6. Bouchard sucked through like 70 games but in the regular season, don’t get why one good playoffs (on the powerplay with Connor and Leon) makes him a 4+ mil player??? Nah
I don't think it impacts it, everyone knows Chicago is throwing these huge deals for mid to subpar players just to reach the cap floor. Look at that Perry deal as an example lol I wouldn't think much of it for muddying McLeods negotiation. A more comparable look would be Miller with the Rangers for Bouchard.

Trade Bouchard and MacLeod for Pesce then sign Pius Suter and Derek Grant and pysyk if they won't take a salary haircut in the short-term
