   I agree with Avery. Reaves will be a healthy scratch & frequently. I don't think he's got the wheels to get in on the forecheck to 'scare' D going back on puck retrievals, as Reaves claims he will. Maybe I'm wrong, but he's 36 & I think Tree would've been better to resign Simmonds for league minimum of 775K & that would have saved 640K on the cap that they could have used & they wouldn't be committed to 3 f*cking years. Wayne is 34, a better skater, pays attention to D, so is less of a liability in my view. He's actually scored some goals in his career unlike Reaves, a signing that made zero sense to me.

   Simmonds should've played against the Florida rats like Bennett, Gubas, Montour & Tkachuk & maybe Bennett doesn't assault Knies, concussing him, knowing that Simmonds would have come after him. I'll be honest, I liked the fact that Simmonds went after guys like Perry, Killorn & Maroon in '22. The only criticism was he took a couple of minors where he didn't take someone with him. That is what Florida & Tampa excelled at, in going after their opponents better players to goad them into coincidental penalties. They repeatedly went after Pietrangelo, Theodore, Hague & McNabb the Vegas top 4 D to try & get them off the ice, but they were under strict instructions from Cassidy not to retaliate & often only Florida got the penalty. The rat stuff only works if you can get a reaction or intimidate people.

   i dont think he could take reaves out lol the weight difference and aggressiveness betweent he too , if he can get him on his back and choke him sure he has a chance , but reaves definitely punches harder snd if reaves ontop and you cant get his back reaves would still be deadly imo ps im not a avery fan hes a prick on the ice and off the ice lol

   Avery is a joke! He was a joke when he played and more of a joke now! Even his own team hated him when he played with them! He doesn’t even sound like he’s in his right mind! Take another shot to the head and damage your brain more! Also how was he ever a model?
   I was going to see Oppenheimer won’t now because he’s in it! Why would you even have him on your show? Last time I watch you guys!

    I don’t buy it for a second….Avery making the league today?? What a laugh. Avery was always running around sucker punching people while in the NHL, until somebody got wise and took him out first. As for now, he’d have no problem making captain of the horse face team.

    Bang on about the leafs. To add to it I think MLSE will sign Matthews and over pay bc he sells and puts more money in there pockets. Matthews is not there best player…he's very good but if the team wants to build a cup contender Matthews is not the guy at north of 11 million. Marner is over paid too. But at least with Marner he has more value to the team bc he's key in them making the playoffs. Regardless my view is Matthews and Marner would be very good additions to another team on a serious cup run who have a core group. These guys aren't core players. There very important players with talent and skill but there not like a #66 or a bonified superstar that when there adreneline is going in a high intense game nothing can stop them. There's a big difference.

    Leafs need to be tougher. Dubas refused to add physical defencemen in particular. I think Shanahan pressured him on this .

    "the leafs are looking like the panthers this year" has to be THE most inaccurate thing i've seen on the leafs in years. Their core four went balls to the wall to win. Our core 4 didn't and don't ever show up and there is nothing that Reaves, Bert, Domi can do about it. (I said the same BEFORE Dubas started tearing our future for ROR, Acciari et al. and i said it when they came in.). This team is NOT going to suddenly start playing playoff hockey. Get Nylander out of here for SOMEONE WHO PLAYS THE GAME. NOW!
