It’s easy to criticize when looking back in retrospect. Although if they knew just anything about PB, they probably would have drafted him and it surprises me they didn’t draft a Quebec boy in that scenario.

I wound’t say that the Bruins draft record is amazing but when they do hit man do they ever homer off of them.

Pointless hindsighting. He was also drafted 165 spots ahead of Joe Pavelski, 9 ahead of Shea Weber, 205 of Byfuglien.
They could have also grabbed him at 10th instead of Kostitsyn too.
2009 instead of Leblanc at 18 they should have taken Kreider who went 1 spot later and then who knows what could have been.

Canadiens’ draft record is impeccable, what are you talking about

I’m sure we can sit and think of mannnny players we should’ve drafted over who we did. I grew up with Cory, was thrilled we drafted him and truly wish he could’ve developed into an NHL’er.

That draft was the perfect example of how much of a lottery it truly is because Joe Pavelski went in the 7th round with pick 205 overall. They probably sent him a hat in the mail!

Isn’t he the guy that sang I wear my sunglasses on ice ?

What happened in 2004? Two seasons of 78+ points in the AHL, then demoted right to the ECHL

I was friends with his ex-wife. He used to own a vegan resturant in Halifax. Really down to earth guy

Bigger what if – is we actually drafted Denis Savard over Wickenheiser

“of our franchise” dawg to put how long our franchise has been around into perspective; I’m a 4th generation Habs fan in my early 20s. This definitely is not the biggest ‘what if?’ in our 114-year history. Tbh the biggest ‘what if’ was probably us drafting Tretiak in 1983.

I mean, the biggest “what if” is GM Frank Selke poaching Gordie Howe in 1946 instead of tipping off Detroit to their oversight.
But this is top 5, for sure.

Not a good sign when Stephane Leroux think that the draft of a QMJHL player is a mistake the day of the draft.
