Everyone is just hysterical, that’s why they have to make shit up like ‘he left his feet before the hit’ no. ‘It was late’ no. ‘ He targeted the head’, no, the shooter put himself in a weird position half a second before. ‘He could have poke checked’, sure, but poke checking less effective at stoping someone from stuffing the puck in a couple inches away, not to mention then they could collide. ‘He didn’t even try to play the puck’ you don’t have to. Hitting was a perfectly reasonable choice. Stop making shit up you buffoons. CLEAN HIT.
When Evans goes to tuck it in, Scheifele’s trajectory is directly at the open goalmouth. He makes a very late veer to his right as Evans makes his move, and makes no attempt at the puck whatsoever (the smarter play if you’re trying to prevent a goal). He takes advantage of what is clearly a defenceless player and inflicts a deliberate upward inflection on a low player, causing himself to leave the ice throughout the hit. Afterwards he looked like a man possessed. Either he was on something (unlikely) or he was incredibly pissed off. It seems like he had his panties in a knot about the penalty and he took his revenge. Toss him.
That punk has an "A" on his jersey but he deserves to have it taken away after this gutless play. Love how he tries to justify the hit to the refs afterwards….no class
This hit is clear there is nothing that is wrong with this hit, his feet are on the ice his arms are down and yes he makes a little move to the right almost as if he was trying to stop, you can see the ice chips flying up when he hits Evans. Scheifele did not charge because he did not skate into the hit, and if MTL cant take it then get the fuck out of the game. Against Toronto MTL did this several times and it was not called because there was no injury. There is an elbow against Sandin from Perry no call, a charge from Andersen on Simmons and 23 more none calls on MTL that should have been called. Yes there were penalties not called on TO as well and I counted 12 of those. But this is a clean hit there is nothing wrong with this hit it is not a charge and Evans can go sit in the press box like JT had to. I just wounder one thing WHO"S NEXT. If I am Winnipeg I am sending everyone I can to the hospital with good hard clean hits like this one. Suck it up buttercups and cry your tears.
Ehlers is always top class. Such an ugly thing from Scheifele. We don't need that. If you feel like ending someones career you should stop playing ice hockey.

From the time the puck left the stick to the hit was less then a half a sec ..not much time ..to go from trying to stop a goal.to dead play ..
