I'm so pround and happy for this kid. As I'm Czech, I followed Jagr's and Hasek's careers from my childhood and was dying in desperation, that the era of great czech players in the NHL is getting to its end. Now Tomas Hertl (and Ondrej Palat from Tampa Bay) bring me back to believe there is a pretty good reason to stay awake late at night to watch the NHL hopefully for many more years. Go for it, boys. I'm sure you still have lot to show.
Who would have thought at the time the Sharks would blow a 3-0 lead in the first round while the Rangers would be in the 3rd round still playing? I can't say I'm too upset about it because this borders on being cocky and trying to show up the other players/team and maybe the Sharks needed to be humbled a bit.
I remember being at that game and seeing a clear view of the goal on the jumbo screen, everyone in the game said "oooooo" at the same time and that was the night Tomas Hertl became one of my favorite players in the NHL.

@enderlordplaysMC Malik and Hertl are both from Czech so i think if Malik saw the goal he must have been happy… well he did score on Malik's old team…

We are the Sharks, we always lose when it counts, but at least we do have best goal of the year.
Martin Biron retired the same year. Not surprised after that goal haha
This kid is great… really wish him the best
this video has more views than Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, lol
best goal ever
Amazing
Good lord…
1,1 ml. wiews
poor goalie
Can we bring back Drew for the 2nd time, please? Randy's just not the same
Hope he has a killer season! Pavelski for the big C.
If he played even close to this more often the sharks would completely wreck.
The most impressive thing about this goal is it ended Biron's career.
Quite fascinating!
That beautiful goal is at 0:12, and his celebration is at 0:16

the goal that ended birons career
"If I scored 4 goals I'd have my cock out. I'd have my cock out and stroking it!" – Joe Thornton
Ill never get tired of watching this kid play. He loves his sport so much. He seems so grateful to be playing. Always smiling and happy!
Biron's career ender lol
unbelievable goal!
Barkov did it better
Imagine getting mad because a 19 year old scored 4 goals in his rookie year
5 Years Later: Tomas Hertl scores the GWG in 2OT to push the sharks into game 7 in their series against the Knights
can't believe some people were angry at him for this goal. He didn't disrespect the league. The rangers did by allowing the sharks to score 9 times.
Best goal in sharks history
I’m never going to get tired of watching this goal
Best goal ive seen live
That golie straight got postered hahaha 🤣
Paráda Tomáši:)
And now Timo owns the record. Tomas still did it with more flair though
Unconsciously, it turns out that hertl has been in the team for 8 years
